Then I went and had a look through my trophies and saw they had screenshots for the trophies. Is this a new Trespasser feature, or have I just not noticed it before?

There is a setting on PS4 that takes a screenshot every time a trophy is earned. Sometimes, trophies are earned during loading screens.

Ah, sorry. Feature, not setting. You can't turn it off either.

 

I can't find one, but I did find a setting that affects the share button on the controller. One press can now take a screenshot without opening up that f*cking menu.

Yep. Go into the menu, then press options on the controller. Share Settings. Then choose between standard and easy. It honestly makes more sense for the easy ti be standard but okay. Sony are exactly prized for being the brightest bunch.
