Heyyy, maybe you saved their life by listening. That stuff helps. Own experience, sadly.
Oh i know and i do my best to listen per my duties but 45 frigging minutes....
Maybe you have a certain air about you that tells people, "I can trust this person and tell them all my problems."
I've come to the same conclusion. People also generally want to do as i suggest. No idea what's going on there, my face isn't exactly screaming 'trust this guy' as much as it does 'familiar with violence and is not in the mood for bulldrek'.

It's a mostly fine translation. I checked. Which is funny, because I wrote it myself. Language skills...

Well, that must've been a very detailed description of things then.

And here I thought you meant Russian. Well, Poland's a borderhop away.
Also, much less known to me than Russia, apparently.
I've stepped on Czech soil, when we stayed in Zakopane. It was a cable car ride over the Giant Mountains. I nearly crapped myself (don't like heights). This was years ago, now. I think it's part of the friendship trail.

I love that Tolkien quote in your signature, Lady Lustre. Not just because of Solas, but because of my attitude towards execution or any kind of "controlled murder" in general.
Here we go again with me damning the fact that his abhorrently descriptive writing style prevented me from making it through the very first chapter... and so the fancy trilogy edition, which I bought to fill an educational gap right before the movie was released just so I could be with the ones who've read the book first, remains gathering dust in my living room.
The quote seemed appropriate

Oh, missed 2400 then? Yotz.
You could always start a new game to see the new stuff. There are those new Trials to keep things interesting and add re-playability.
I have considered doing that a few times, just not sure who to Inquisitate it with. And I've still got so many other games to play/finish.

Not everyone likes the same stuff, tbh I don't personally find it overly descriptive. The language style seemed appropriate for the subject matter imo. I wished they hadn't dumbed down the dialogue for the films, but I enjoyed them nevertheless.
Ugh, 3DS - not browser friendly.
I had the same problem with Harris and his Red Dragon trilogy. I could really imagine Sterling's state of mind without the one-paragraph-description of her facial expression via the reflection in the polished metal slider of her service weapon because of the peculiar position the sun was hanging in the sky at the time of the day it was, thank you.
It's not even that I disapprove of conveluted writing in general - as long as it is philosophy, dialogue, or to a less flattering degree, action sequences of course. I've made it through many classics with that attitude, very including the French as well as the Germans. It's just the "setting the scene so there is no possible room for the reader to have a different image" that starts to grate on me easily.
edit: Even if it is employed to convey a certain sense of beauty - count me in. There is a way of describing a scene or location that is very emotional, and has poetry to it which is just a delight to read. It is mostly the length, paired with matter-of-factliness, to try and be more precise.

No, it was Zakopane we stayed in a fabulous hotel named after Mt Kasprowy. Defo a cable car ride and it was before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. Well, I was told we stepped over the border but it doesn't matter it was breathtaking in any case.

I have to zoom out a whole lot to even see Třinec on the map when I look at Kasprowy wierch. It's just south of Zakopany that I found earlier.
So, yeah, either you were here before 1/1/'93, or it was Slovakia.

As I always say, When in doubt, Elf!
I CC'd two female elves recently to try out some sliders I liked. But, well, my "female elf" plan is in principle a "very good" Inquisitor rather than Isileth's "good but practical", and as she'd be a mage she'd side with the mages again too. That suggests I should go with either the "male human Andrastian warrior" plan or the "male dwarf rogue with no real clue" plan. I kind of don't want different characters using the same voice because I'd sort of want them to literally have their own voices.

Well exactly! I'm into the last chapter of TW2 finally, now that I've had to use a few 'cheats' to add items to some stores to get stuff I never found or didn't know I needed to buy (to remove the tattoo, for example, where if you don't get the ingredients in Flotsam you're screwed if you go the Iorveth path) or that presumably got used inadvertently in alchemy (because using up quest items to make potions is a brilliant thing to allow in a game).
As for TW3 it just sounds really great and I'm dying to get Ciri on my screen for real because she looks so awesome, even if it's only in bits and pieces here and there.
Question, actually: I know Ciri is playable for part of the game, but is it all in one go or is it for an hour or two at a time over several instances? I'm curious.

Sadly, less than an hour at a time.
It happens in short bursts throughout the game, but from what I've heard it was intended as a lead up to future games which won't feature Geralt, but Ciri as the protagonist. Another thing that blows is that you can't build her abilities like you can with Geralt.
I wouldn't let it discourage you, though. The game is still fantastic, and Geralt's character is well fleshed out. Especially when it comes to moral choices.

Ah, I did wonder. And it certainly won't put me off! I'd heard the new protagonist idea before - sounds like a great idea to me!
...Might have to wait till I see about upgrading my 'puter next year some time so it can deal with the new games coming out, though. Dishonored 2, Mirror's Edge 2, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, and something called Must Affect Andromaderp, I think...

Ahh, the beauty of being a lowly console peasant ![]()
Sadly there aren't really many upcoming games that appeal to me.. Divinity: Original Sin will be ported to PS4 soon, but I am skeptical about that.. Other than that there is only really Andromederp and the remake of Beyond: Two Souls.

Hunted (console game) was half the game you played as one of the two main characters, other half you played as the other character. I mean not literally first half as one, second half the other but in short bursts alternating between them throughout the game.
I kind of liked it. Dual protagonist style does work in some games rather well.

I finally created my Templar lady, she's based on a personal fiction character I use for a few other things. She's not exactly what I wanted but I am happy with this CC attempt.
Rohain Rhea Trevelyan
Templar in training prior to the war thingamajig (so not actually up to the lyrium part, just training).
Will be a templar, side with the templars, romance the ex-templar and be Andrastrian. Gotta be consistent, right? ![]()
She also likes to close her eyes for screenshots. I promise I'll turn the flash down a bit >.>

Quite a few under the tag, I get carried away in the first set of screenies, you know that...
