Emigrated during the '30s or '40s?

I can totally see why... *sad face*

P.S.: Grandmother from mother's side, I'd guess.

No. She emigrated in the 50s.

Prior/during WWII made the most sense, to be honest. Did the math, generations could easily match the timeframe, WWII was the largest "OH SH*T" during the suitable timeframe. Alternatively, being so close to the Iron Curtain (hey, I'm past it from your point of view), also tensions between West and East arise during that time, Denmark being a likely place of battle... All in all, there are good reasons to emigrate during that time, as well. WWII shadows it, though.

Naaaaw.

Did you not know that the meaning of a sentence in Polish is decided by placement and tone of "KURWA"?

It's just like "Man!" in English. Or "Ox!" in Czech. Yup. That's the translation of a comparable word.

...Not a word to be used around people who don't speak the language then. The other meaning is fairly well known and likely to earn you a beating before you get a chance to explain :P

Never actually checked whether they also use it for the same purpose we do (there's one letter difference, and even that's actually w versus v) but they probably do.

Is this a good enough reason to carry a large blade and death in my heart?

Her family stayed in Denmark during the war, but they were part of active resistance against the Nazi regime. If you're really curious, she followed a man here. :D

I am now going to get my mug and fill it to the brim with ice cold Dr Pepper.

Oooh, love never gets old, right.

And, active resistance? I have a few stories about resistance around here, none of which I however wish to share at the moment. Family privacy. Plus some of the stories, I find somewhat questionable.

Thank you for your kind words ^_^  I may add it to the art thread in the group.

Battlecry is my favourite TSFH album, hands down.

ETA: I've been clicking like in some posts for a long while now. First try on yours, it works. And OOL again. *Drink, drink*

Please add it to the Art Studio! I wouldn't do it myself without permission from the artist.

And ALL THE LIKES ARE MINE! MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Kind of the point. I've been f*cked with too many times.

Lately, I just keep hoping somebody will jump me on the street. Just to have an excuse to CAVE THEIR SKULL IN.

Crazy, yeah?

No, just kidding. I don't actually hope for that. Though it IS what I'd aim for.

Huh. I once heard that war is in my very soul. Or, you know, stuff that would suggest it.

(Apparently, reincarnation actually exists, and I've been in the Roman Legions over 70 times...)

Oh. Look at me. Well, if I can reliably and effectively kill anything, it's conversation.

Come on, I'm not really a psychopath. I just like things solved the fast and effective way.

I'm already giving it a 10/10 rating based on that alone. It will be dropped to 9/10 if I'm not allowed to join in, though. ;)
