He dumped my first character too!  (elf) Gah that hurt. I had her do the ultimate sacrifice because I refused Morrigan's shady ritual and I couldn't let Al die. *drink to game feels* Funny because I make it a rule not to romance anyone on a first play through. I went into the game with absolutely no knowledge on who was a romance either. Then Alistair happened. He broke my rule. I had no idea that the dialogue options I was choosing were leading to the romance so was pleasantly surprised when he gave my warden the rose. DAO is the only game were I romanced someone on a first play through. *drink to game memories*

Ok, we really need HB, because this thread turns into Alistair appreciation fest... it's not that he don't deserves it and personally I don't mind, because real one (official thread, I mean) is too scary to enter.. I'm tring to avoid any kind of appreciation threads (it's weird, but still, no go for me).

 

And in my first PT he dared to dump my Cousland! When it happened I laughed hysterically for some time (my self preservation mechanism) sitting near my computer. Still, I completed PT as dumped Cousland. And took some time off. 

But with all the drama that was one of the best plot turns.

Truth be told, I completed my first ever playthrough as Alistair basically.

 

He was easy to play with all the high defenses, and most importantly, he was funny. Sorry, but as much love I have for DAO, I never "got" the Warden. I never felt connected to any of mine, at least.

 

 

Trivia:

My Inquisitor really grew on me. I have a very elaborate backstory getting more and more sophisticated in my head, and the occasional smirk-worthy middle-wheel-comments kinda compliment that in a superficial, yet not "intrusive" manner. On the other hand, I get thrown back a mile everytime they mention my Trevelyan-ness or nobility :/

 

I guess what I'm saying is, he starts to work better as a "blank slate" than the Warden ever did.
