UGH! I hate the Descent!

 

How are you supposed to defeat that guardian?!

When I first played the Descent I've actually been drinking wine so at some point of the DLC I turned the game down to casual and just spammed random abilities all the way. Fun times! (Still took forever, sooo)

The ast boss in Descent was a ******, but there is a trick to it.  Basically, run for your lives and make sure your party is followng you.  It was actually quite fun there the second time I did it.

I'm more frustrated with the Trespasser fights, the first time I played it I considered crying and throwing my controller against the screen. Qunaris blocking about every attack of my dudes got boring really fast. I also had so fricking many team combos that half of my fights were in slow-mo.

Weird I don't think I had one team wipe in the entire DLC, either time I did it.  Qunari were quite good vilains.

Easily. Thousand Cuts.

 

Or a lot of damage. Both times, I beat the Guardin with Sera only. Everyone else was down.

 

The first time, well, Sera has no trouble dealing around 700 damage the way I built her.

The second time, well, THOUSAND CUUUUTS!

 

Speaking of Descent, just defeated that damn emissary alpha. How many hit points does it have, a couple million?

 

With the barrier? Easily.

 

It's a fight of attrition really. Bring a LOT of healing (in my NM playthrough, I just had like 30 heals between three or four different sources) and Sera. No need to Thousand Cuts, but give her Hidden Blades equipment.

 

She's a pretty good DPS.

For the Emmisary Alpha.  Just have level 3 THousand Cuts.  Level 3 Haste.  Mark of the Rift.  Mark of Death.  Wet tissue paper.

Dispel and Spell Purge would have really come in handy here but Dorian didn't have it and Cassandra went MIA.

That said, The Descent DLC is a lot easier if you're an Artificer or take control of Varric.
Enclosed spaces mean nowhere for enemies to hide from Elemental Mines.

I had some strange thing going on in one part of my game, I think it was the second time you go back through the Eluvians?
Everything suddenly had lag, I wanted to interact with something but it triggered like 30 seconds later. It also happened during cutscenes, I selected the answer but my Inquis just stood there a whole while before he actually said it.
Climbing ladders was actually a fun thing because Inquis then climbed up the air and fell down all the time.
I read about only one other person in this forum that experienced it, have no clue what caused this because everything went back to normal when I went through the Eluvian again. Pls fix.

Barrier became wet tissue paper, as Al helpfully said. Sera seriously hit on that HP bar. Sadly Lyna used a Fire staff, and I think Emissaries are immune to that, so her being a Rift Mage really helped.

What's weird is I lied.    No Level 3 haste on Dorian and no MOR.

I think Trespasser nerfed significantly the rate of Focus generation, so you probably did (I probably also would've the first time) but it's different now.
