I find it amazing that his character arc is perfectly natural though.

Well, maybe the striking part about it is rather that this one time, they did not go "it was possession, or other randomly convenient blood magic", but flat out "I messed up. I was wrong."

Strangely I've been conditioned to declare natural behaviour the odd one out amongst its previous dramaturgical company.

 

Truth be told still, if a man invaded my home, threatened my elderly mother and kidnapped my sister to some widely feared, alien combination between a dandy boarding school and the bloody Tower dungeon; he would not see the end of the appropriate beating. Access to magical amounts of hair gel or not.

Yeah I hated him in the first two games myself. His head annoyed the crap out of me. You know how some people have punchworthy faces? He's definitely up there. Then he got a make over in DAI.. And while I can appreciate that he is a likeable enough fellow now.. He irritates me for different reasons which are of no fault of his own and more to do with the Justin Bieberish fanbase he's sporting now..

And this has nothing to do with nymphomania!

I find they ruined Alistair's character (whom I liked, yet on a platonic basis) and kind of handed the torch to the next fair-haired human male with surprisingly vain grooming principles.

 

At least Al was fun to have around, rather than a conversation with the entertainment value of Words With Friends versus a desk fan with a shotgun aimed at it and loaded with shredded bits of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Admittedly, I obviously never pursued any personal conversation with him, besides the approval-unrelated cutscenes.
