Something I deemed off about his face ever since the first time I saw the man in Inquisition. And it's not just that they swapped his rapist's goatee with a fashionable stubble, in order to make it very clear he's availible (for consentual encounters) now.

I simply dislike DAO- and especially DA2 Cullen too much not to give him a hard time; despite the fact that BioWare went to astronomical lengths to write him into a perfectly reasonable, apologetic and unannoying human being.

This. Hated the guy in DAO/2 so I still gotta give him a hard time no matter what.

 

I find they ruined Alistair's character (whom I liked, yet on a platonic basis) and kind of handed the torch to the next fair-haired human male with surprisingly vain grooming principles.

 

At least Al was fun to have around, rather than a conversation with the entertainment value of Words With Friends versus a desk fan with a shotgun aimed at it and loaded with shredded bits of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Admittedly, I obviously never pursued any personal conversation with him, besides the approval-unrelated cutscenes.

It's interesting that you say they ruined Alistair, when in my eyes they definitely did not. Al is still Al.

ETA:  Favorite phone I ever had was a blackberry.  Even the old OSs still make Android (I have an LG G2 running, er, Android 5something) look and feel like crap.  Shouldn't have switched.

It may not seem like a big deal to you (I get that, from one arsehole to another) and I've said some jokes in my time but some people don't see it that way.
