I can only recommend picking up Styx: Master of Shadows to anyone who doesn't hate the premise of "Thief" meets "Prince of Persia". An amazingly vertical, Uncharted-esque yet full-blown stealth game and one of my favourites on next gen so far. Plus these guys are with a very small yet major publisher, so they have the cash but also a few crazy ideas. One of them being actually jumping and holding onto ledges whenever you bloody feel like it.

I can only recommend picking up Styx: Master of Shadows to anyone who doesn't hate the premise of "Thief" meets "Prince of Persia". An amazingly vertical, Uncharted-esque yet full-blown stealth game and one of my favourites on next gen so far. Plus these guys are with a very small yet major publisher, so they have the cash but also a few crazy ideas. I haven't played it, but the way you describe it sounds fantastic! I think I'll follow this game to learn a bit more

See I was trying to save money on games and you go mentioning amazing vertical level design.

 

I love it because this is something stealth games usually avoid; assumingly to make the AI design more comfortable. And honestly, I was merely craving a game where you felt like your character is actually in your control, rather than desperately seeking the "Press A" port at the wall.

 

I had played their first game, Of Orcs And Men as well (a foul-mouthed ARPG with DAO-like combat where you play as an Orc tank and a Goblin rogue versus humans and elves in shiny armor), and quite liked the game for its charm and premise, even though it was very unpolished. Styx is actually a spinoff. Imagine Zevran got his own game, something like that.
