The Witcher 3 actually has a lot of repetition with treasure hunts, monster nests, bandit camps etc. But luckily all of the other side quests aren't. It's overwhelming though, and there are major issues with levelling. If you level too high for a quest you don't get any exp and it makes you not inclined to do it.. Which sucks cause some of the minor "optional" side quests actually have an impact on the main story! Aside from that its amazing game.
Yes it is. I'd give it anywhere between a 9.0-9.4. (YEs I am rating things again, its just a tick, it'll go away soon, I swear...ahem). Anyways good game with good characters, good story, and just...well pretty amazing presentation and amazing side quests. And I have decided that no matter my own issues with the game I cannot let my own personal issues color how well put together it was.
HOWEVER. The exploration and Geralt's over all movement style is one of the most mind numbingly poor pieces of crap I have ever had the misfortune of suffering through. Its just...horrid. And pointless. And watching Nukem Dukem play through Hearts of Stone a bit I just realized how even more pointless it is. Which ties into the...albeit minor complaint...of the levelling system. And I am not sure how much this should really bother me and effect the rating overall. Same thing with Eredin. Eredin was largely a non factor throughout the game and this is surprising considering he did actually interact with the player but its like...uh...who are you? Thought he could have been redeemed in the ending and ironically it was one line towards the ending that I was like 'ok whoa that is pretty cool'. But then replaying the ending I realized...nope he was a waste of programming space.
Aside from that the ending did adress most of my other complaints of the game, so it is a Tier 1 game. If only barely.
So in short.
Witcher 3-Amazing presentation.
Pretty Solid Story
Amazing characters...who seem to have aborted character arcs but still well done.
Amazing combat.
Alright Music.
Amazing secondary content.
****** poor shoddy, stupid, terrible tertiary content
And shoddy cast of villains. (The Crones of Crookback bog yo)
Easy fix. Don't like mmo's don't play them
I play the two I do because I have zero social life outside of games anyway. I don't have any friends that I've actually met and zero people I can hang out with. It's my way of trying to interact with at least someone, stranger or not, that isn't my parents or boyfriend. Mmo's aren't for everyone, never have been. just like first eprson shooters, or action rpg's etc
I know and I kinda hate being one of those guys (kinda like it to.
) but really I just literally had this thught the other day watching Arche play TOR.
