Oh, alright then. Lol.
And we should probably quit talking about gross stuff before we scare everyone away.
Your wish is my something something.
Change of topic...
Been playing Wasteland 2. Is it sad that my squad consists of DQ members?

Because you don't play as one person.. you play as a squad of four people. You get the option of choosing pre-made characters or make your own from scratch.
I've called mine the B*tch Brigade.
Naturally, I'm the leader. I am adept in assault rifles, heavy weapons and brawling. I have the hardass dialogue, and the psychopath quirk.
Roy is also a psychopath, and is my sniper.
Traggy is the medic, and she's good with a murder knife. I gave her the manic depressive quirk. Her stats can change randomly, sometimes go higher, sometimes lower.
And lastly, Verse. She's good with shotguns, and computer science, smartass dialogue, and is an opportunist.
I need to find this game...
edit: found! .. 40 bucks *sobs*
I guess I can be a persuasive beggar....

That's kind of awesome. I want to try this game now.

The combat is turn based. I don't think you will like it.
It's pretty much the same as Fallout, but instead of open world it's top down CRPG.
It's here... though you can probably get it cheaper on Steam.
http://www.gog.com/g..._deluxe_edition
I got it for Xbox One and it was cheaper than that.
Fully turn based, like Divinity Original Sin, is fine. when it's pause, set up shot, forward slow-mo, set up abilities, forward slow-mo, being only way to survive 'easily' then I get frustrated. *glares at Pillars of Eternity*
That's kind of awesome. I want to try this game now.
It's fun. But the one to watch out for is this.
There's co-op in this.. either online or couch co-op. It's a PS4 trailer I know.. but it's coming to Xbox One too. Couldn't find an Xbox One vid of this for some reason.
*boasts again* been playing that game for a while now ![]()
Awesome-tastic, it is. But it's not a new one, they're just doing a re-release and letting consoles play it now.

Nope. It's not like that. You use action points to either move into position, take cover or attack. But it's none of this slow-mo sh*t.
Shadowrun also has good turn-based combat.

I'm so pumped for it.
*Looks at date*
9 days!!!!
Good, real turn-based then. I'm not a fan of the style but it's better then action-real time but slow-mode crap hahaha
Pity I play DoS on pc, but I prefer it that way xD

After playing Shadowrun on PC and Wasteland 2 on console, these games are better suited for mouse.
How would you guys categorize X-COM style combat? It's turn based, but you can have opportunity fire, etc.

It's similar to the games we are talking about, minus the RPG elements. Mind you I haven't played a lot of Xcom. I bought a cheap copy for the PS3 and that thing is on the verge of shitting itself.
x-com is a tactical rpg yeah? a mix between turn based and real time. in that regard I hate that sort of style. be one, or the other. Not mixed.

It's RPG? I thought it was strategy.
Anyway.. hmm, you may not like Wasteland 2 then. My prophet told me that D:OS is like Shadowrun.. which is like Wasteland 2. So I dunno
guess you can only see for yourself.
D:OS is turn based and I like how it did it. If it's proper turn based ie: ability points to move and use abilities etc, one thing on the 'board' in combat moves and attacks at a time, little scrolls etc for different tactics options.
And I can run around and interact with stuff outside of combat like any other dungeon crawler games I like. I meant it by combat-specific only.
It's fun. But the one to watch out for is this.

I haven't played many turn based combat games, but that one looks so awesome, I may have to try it. Co-op could be really fun too, if I could find a good party to play with.
Okie doke, thanks ladies
I know X-COM but not these games y'all were talking about, so I was trying to get a feel for what was meant based on what I know. When I think "turn based" I personally think of Civilization, so that was throwing me off a bit.
Yeah, I wouldn't really file X-COM under RPG. Well, I suppose to a degree, but it's really more a strategy/tactical thingy.

Civilization was my first turn-based style game too!
I think I read under rpg wiki page at some point in the past x-com being under tactical rpg style which is likely why that got stuck in my head all this time is all. I've never played it. So ignore me..
But I know how to attempt to torment Donk now! by constantly showing her my Divinity original Sin screenshots just because ![]()
(with absolutely no descriptions so she doesn't know what's going on)

Oh yeah.. only in combat is it turn based. Outside of combat you can run around, loot things, interact. Good thing about W2 is if say you can't unlock a door.. if you've got the brute force perk you can just smash it down. There are many different ways of going about things.

Before Shadowrun I hadn't really played any either, and I was worried it would be too hard LOL.. but it isn't. Basically when you level up you just gotta put stats in to strengthen how you play your character, and build it right cause if you don't you will be screwed.
The prophet and I plan on playing D:OS together, you could join us. ![]()

That's fine. Dunno what's going on in those trailers either but the game looks amazing. *Orgasm*
How would you guys categorize X-COM style combat? It's turn based, but you can have opportunity fire, etc.
Turn based tactical squad combat. Movement and position are more important than ability use like an RPG's party combat.
x-com is a tactical rpg yeah? a mix between turn based and real time. in that regard I hate that sort of style. be one, or the other. Not mixed.
X-COM is straight turn based, unless you count the strategy layer. It's only a tactical RPG in that the characters have abilities and grow as you play (which plenty of non-RPGs have*.
It's also great. Probably the best tactical game I've played this side of Ground Control.
*which is why RPGs don't really exist
