I used to know Italian.. well enough to get through a simple conversation anyway. Japanese too. That's the extent of my other language learning, been almost 10.. maybe 12 years now though.

Just remember 'it has to be grog' as most important sentence.

And I nearly agree. Nearly because I love spanish. Even though I speak it less good as I want to. My Beloved is a halfspanish bastard, so I should know a bit...

And Finnish... yeah... sexy. Especially when talked to me with beards :D
I raise my thumb to that... more tavern rum fof me!
Dienne, I love you. Never forget that ;)

Cabot! grog for two leave the bottle!

I studied Japanese on my own during my teens! I had a pretty decent level of understanding, though when it comes to writing it was limited to hiragana/katakana and a few simple kanji.

Also I studied 2 years of French at highschool, but I think I'm still better at Japanese than French :P

Ahhh, (yo)<noun is often omitted soy quiero hablar Español!

Just trying to help, not being an arsehole/know-it-all. Aargh I was trying to avoid correcting people. Bad Dienne, bad! *drinks*

The translation is probably mooore than wrong but:

Chciałbym swoje frytki jesz brzydkie penisa!

That, translated to my language is what my best polish friends keep telling me. :bandit:

Google translate suggests:I would like your fries you eat pesky penis
... I'm too innocent for that. I only know 'hi' and 'thanks'.

I'm fluent in Australian lol.

Other than that I can speak Maori but there aren't many others who can back home let alone in Australia.

Irish sounds very Germanic, don't you think Raven?  The Welsh language is very melodic to me.  I got my A level in French in sixth form so I can have a basic convo in French, but I'm better at writing it.  I was a member of a French forum for a while, they were brilliant - no English all French, and some good colloquialisms, they were so mean but taught me a lot.

Eh... no. Sorry, but 'oirish' doesn't sound germanic to me at all.
And I remember a lot of times where irish people told me, they don't understand anything when someone of the next county talked to them.
The only thing similar to german is that they got no 'th' ;)

It's the cadence to me, but I'm no expert at all on languages in any case.  Hardly anyone here speaks Gaelic, and the difference in dialects are the same here as in any country I suppose.

Well played my friend, well ... played .....
