Apparently it took the animators a long time to fix his walk there because it was about 100 times more ridiculous. Solas was basically prancing and skipping.

Oh, I think they got it perfectly (for me), they made him lithe rather than overtly muscular, the amour accentuates a muscle ridge that gives a bit of an optical illusion. In bed now (on 3Ds), so can't explain properly, but will expand tomorrow (that's what she said).
