Wait. I'm mistaken. To much Warcraft lore to remember. There is a person playing Gul'Dan, who is very much a bad guy. That's the one who is saying in the trailer "You side with the humans? Against your own kind?" I'm sure of it.

Its possible.  I mean there is a tops card game for the new movie and it has a bunch of symbols and the legend says X= Jedi and Rey has X on her card.  BUT I am holding a lot of that with a lot of grains of salt.

You know can I just wax eloquent for a moment on just how ****** awesome of a character Rey is. Or at least this new trailer paints her as. Consider she did not know Finn's name until they get on the Falcon and given the likeliest series of events that means after the big battle.

So here she goes, not knowing this person, yet holding out he hand for him and saving his life and then sticking with him through thick and thin and giving him a life off world.

How many of us would do that? Not sure I would.

At first I thought that was a W3 storyline.. the orc seemed like Thrall. But I don't see an Arthas type of character.

 

 

Also hilarious that it looks like they're trying to fit in some human/orc romance. And she HAS to be half of the size of males and built like a human.

It's just the "PC halo" effect, aka "other protagonist recognition" at work

I imagine there's more to it than we've seen, too, but even so, its the sort of things heroes are made of.... right?

It's before Thrall and Arthas. It's when the Orcs first arried in Azeroth.

Yeah, it's the usual desperate crowbar in a romance nonsense. But then I get the feeling they were/are like that in the games too for some reason.

Well, yeah, sure.  But my point is, really, shoulda made this in the first place...but given her background and all she's been through and she has turned into a good person, and not a raving dirt bag lunatic?  Its very impressive.  And speaks a lot to what kind of person she is.

It's more reasonable in the games, if only because the male Orcs aren't 10 feet wide either. Looks like a bigger contrast in this movie.

I have never dressed up in Star Wars memorbelia, I have never got my face painted or tatooed with anything from Star Wars, and nor have I attended any SWs specific conventions.  The most I have ever done is had my Dad get for me a Master Replica version of Obi-Wans Light Saber.

I went to Commic Con and met Garret Wang, John de Lancie, stared awkardly at Ammanda Tapping from a distance, I think Cirroc Lofton was there too, and got to sign art work up in Terryl Rothery's hotel lobby.  Oh and shared a car with Marina Sirtis and Leva Burton.  It was awesome.  Crowds were a bit awkward though.  Oh crap and I was five feet in front of JMS too.

Never attended any convention where ME/DA had a presence. I've actually never been to a convention at all.

 

Clearly not as fan of those franchises as I thought I fanned. I am disappoint.
