I've bought ME1 a total of three times and ME2 twice.  First one for each was a physical copy with a reg code.  Well, due to my previous habit (that I had carried over since the mid 90s) of diligently formatting and reloading my entire system once ever 6 months or so, I found my registrations soon invalid.  No help to be found. 

 

Well frak.  Okay, my fault, I shot myself in the foot on that one.  Bought them both again on Steam.  All is well... for a time.  Now, for some reason that neither Steam nor I could ever figure out, ME1 ceased to work on Steam, period.  Uninstall, reinstall, blah blah, tech support, blah blah... nada.  In Steam's defense, I don't have problems with it, so I have no idea what happened here.  So....

 

Origin!  I read I could port over my codes from Steam and be golden.  Turns out, though, that I couldn't port over ME1 for whatever reason, so purchase #3 for ME1.  ME2 ported over fine with the exception of Origin not recognizing that it was the Collector's Edition.  EA fixed that by giving me some a couple of DLCs that included everything the collector's edition had that the standard edition didn't include with the exception of the cooler looking cover.

So, to answer your question finally, yes, I did buy ME1 directly on Origin.
