Yeah, me too. Back then it was just Pong (two lines and a ball on a black screen) and everyone thought it was the best thing ever.
My first experience with a video game was with Super Mario for the Super Nintendo in the 90s and that was 100 times better than Pong. Lol.

The 70s were not the dark ages! Er, well okay, there was disco, but let's just ignore that for now. Yes, we had video games. Got our Pong console for Christmas 1978 IIRC. There were also these neat hand held games too. I also had a set of Star Trek walkie-talkies, so there!

I used to be Pc master race when I was young too.
I had a Sega Genesis when I was a kid and I loved Sonic the Hedgehog but my best friend had a Super Nintendo and I loved it so much more (probably because I wasn't terrible at it lol.) I would always go over there and we would play Mario for hours on Co-Op. It was so much fun.
They also had the original Nintendo with that Duck Hunt game and I remember having a blast with that, well until her brother got mad at us and broke the gun. *sighs* Good times

A few years ago I spent 600 dollars on a Nintendo 64 at a retro game shop. Didn't even work properly, biggest rip off ever.
Man was I stupid back then.
Well, that sucks donkey balls. I sold/gave away all my old consoles that worked. I want them back, now! Lol.
I gave my N64 to my cousin for his birthday and sold my PS2 and all my games for $40 to a friend I don't even talk to any more. I think it got stolen by her ex. 
I think I have the boxes that the platforms came in to. Make it more valuable.

Now I just restrict it to the bedroom.
