Confirmed: I totally blocked out everything he said. I don't hear anything sad in it.

Not from my experience. He just said Hello or whatever his default greeting was. It is entirely possible that I blocked out anything he may have said because it's Cullen and I just don't care.

Is there anything beneficial from making him take it?

Like, is there an in-game incentive for being a horrible person?

Well, he pretty much tells the inquisitor that he should take it, and also the side-effects of not taking it could be madness and death.  So, you have to make the decision whether it would function better with it, or hope that he can somehow get over the addiction because he's Super Cullen.  If the epilogue is anything to go by, it's possible.

If anyone can do it, you'll do it! Why? Because you are the manliest around here, and you're a woman!

And I'm home! With donuts. And Dr Pepper. 4 litres of it.   :D

Yeah I've only ever had him cured. He never seemed like he was really losing it... just losing his nerve about it for a moment.

I would tell you, Paragon, that if I can do it, anyone can. But I'm a cold heartless bastard.

I do find that a bit sad *sniffles - runs out of tavern after Raven to comfort Cully, but bumps into Michel and gets distracted*

Later nug lovers, glad I 'caught' you Dame!

Edit:  @Lynroy, nah I'll do it but I guarantee I'll feel like shite afterwards, I don't really want to punch Dorian or Solas but it has to be done.

Erm, I am a cold heartless bastard because I can do it just like I have. You not being able to do it has no bearing on me being a heartless bastard.

Marry him and making him take lyrium? That's even worse!

We're all just a big disappointment, aren't we? :P

Well you kill Hawke, so nyah.

I know  :D I was just trying to mess with you... also, take a drink, Roy. You are breaking my immersion.

If I remember right, you can't marry him if he's on lyrium.

If your immersion is breaking, it is your responsibility to take a drink, not mine. :D

Pffff I killed Hawke and I only felt bad about it because of Varric. I didn't care about Hawke.

I know killed him twice with Ben, and the only time it got to me was watching Varric's "Where's Hawk" *looks at Stroud* "Where's Hawk?"

Ugh, that poked my feels. Varric really is the only reason I felt bad about leaving Hawke in the Fade. Lesson learned, don't bring Varric to Adamant if I plan on leaving Hawke in the Fade.

Another thing I'd never be able to bring myself to do: sacrificing the Chargers.

Perhaps had I never spoken with Krem, but since I have (at length)...

Probably my favorite protagonist they've done... Ladyhawke at least.

i know they're hated though.

Hawke was the best.  Inquisitor close second.

I still maintain that I punched Dorian on accident. :D

 I did that on my first playthrough. Happens to be my canon too.

Hawke is my least favorite. Don't hate him/her, just don't care about them at all. They were just...there.
