I just saw this.
I agree. I was making a sarcastic point against Trespasser's disturbing lack of storyline and closure.

I just saw this.
Seems legit.
I happen to agree with there being a lack of closure. Trespasser felt like a stop gap. A moment where we as players can figure out what the next game is going to be about. As closure goes, there wasn't much. Every character got a new aspect to develop in one way or another. With Solas, we get face to face and we're still fighting to catch up.
When a writer adds more for development, it means there is still a ways to go with that character or that story, before closure can happen.
So in my eyes, Trespasser was never meant to be a closure adding thing. For some aspects, like romance, it did add something. Marriage for example. That's a closure on the romance. I'm guessing BioWare aren't going to do a 180 on that decision. But everything else, it left us asking more questions than getting answers.
As story goes. It was pretty damn good, so I disagree with that lack of story comment.
I'm out of likes but I agree with you, Poodle. Though there was closure on some aspects I feel that, as you said, it didn't aim to give closure to the whole story, but instead kinda teasing towards the future of the franchise.
But lack of storyline? mphhh.

Well I guess to a certain extent the fact that it's cliffhanging into a sequel does indeed preclude true closure. That said, we see characters having settled into their new roles in life, we get a lot of clarity as to why any of this crap happened and who was behind it. To put it another way: with the exception of setting up the Fen'Harel conflict, Trespasser was a far more satisfying place to walk away from Thedas than was the original ending. At least to me.
End of main game, seeing Solas' eyes light up after the Mythal scene: WTF? WHAT'S GOING ON? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
End of Trespasser: Okay, I can breathe now. There's still a lot to be done, but I have a handle on it now.
