I did it, finally.  Defeated the Guardian.  Still don't know which staff rune is best, tho...

 

But Walking Fortress runes in Armor really did the trick (of course, 309 armor rating helps too).  I only lost Varric at the end, when the Guardian started crumbling.

 

Descent portion of Keep didn't unlock

I have decided to not buy anything new and shine 'til I've made something serious with my backlog . And here I am sitting at 1815 hrs of DAI and still lots to go.
