So i finished Shadows of Revan, the prologue and all 9 available chapters of the Fallen Empire in one sitting. MMO single-player expansion, now there's a new concept. Actually gives me hope for future, non-andromederp bw games because it was well written, well told story that moved with break-neck speed without unnecessary dawdling.Not that happy with the new companions, even if my Inquisitor has been sleeping with Lana Beniko for almost as long as she has known her since way before Shadows of Revan. None of them  (aside from Lana ) like me and i don't like them (except, again, Lana even if she's not particulary interesting ) .

And then i suddenly ran in to the part where  BW ran out of money for main character voice acting and the game actually wants me to grind some inane base-building quests that aren't part of the main plot. Lol, nope. See you when chapter 10 drops

Told you the story part of it was good! they had to add something for the easily bored, not as interested in story, peeps that play too! though the base building has some really good perks and I recommend it (the base changes as you 'build' it up with supplies!!) but it's a drag of course.

 

I actually like the new companions, and love how you unlock all the class' companions via quests if you want them!! yes you can use them all in combat etc as companions once unlocked/recruited, not all are added to the story yet though waiting on the next chapter!

*with blood smearing his face* No. Well... maybe. Not sure. Didn't check. Just saw a horde of people cheering for some person standing half way up a set of stairs. Figured it was an attacking force.

I actually really liked how the storyline ditched the free choosing of companions in favor of actually writing the companions in to the story. Plus not having to worry about companion gear is soooooo good. But i i want both of my apprentices back. And my bodyguard. And the pirate i'm kind-sorta married to even if i'm in Lana's bed most of the time. And i guess the archeologist lackey would come in handy too.

 

One part of the story i dislike, though....

The discount Handsome Jack in my head. Just doesn't work with darker than a black hole Inquisitor as she has dealt with that crap before. She EATS ghosts. There are SEVERAL bound to her. The Vitiate should be keeping as far as possible from her so long as he doesn't have a physical form.

I kind of like the guy in my character's head. most powerful Sith ever, thousands of years old etc and I can be sarcastic to him... he's not gonna be scared of an incy squishy Inquisitor.

Have to ask, though. If he's so powerful then why is he hiding in the players head and tries to cajole her to let him on the drivers seat (the only time i let that happen was to save Lana, other times i've given him the finger) ?  I kinda think he's scared senseless   And in the Inquisitors case, he REALLY should be

 

Maybe Tales from the Borderlands spoiled me a bit but once you've had Handsome Jack inside you ( ) nothing else compares. This guy just isn't as funny, charismatic or terrifying as good old Jack  

Still going to enjoy destroying everything he ever held dear (please BW, let us REALLY be dark and pull a Ziost on his beloved planet) and tormenting him at every turn. Because that's what Inquisitors do

Playing a mage femHawke.. and actually carrying through the Anders romance. I tend to dump him or diss him, but trying to keep up with it now. It's kind of cringeworthy.
