Now is easier since your companions can fill any role. When I was leveling my Knight (around patch 3.2) as DPS I was stuck using Doc (healer) and forced to leave Kira (DPS) on the ship. Conversely leveling my Agent (after patch 4.0) I was able to use Raina Temple (his LI) as a Healer/Tank from the point I got her.

This reminds me of a story told by one of my professors during a lecture:

 

Some GENIUS decided to put a screw on his... uh... manly bits while "playing" with his girlfriend. "The thing" wouldn't go down and of course, the screw was stuck, so he ended up in the emergency service to have the screw removed and this involved extracting the blood from his bits. 

 

Clearly I need to step up my during-lecture personal anecdote game when I get back to teaching.

(I have Kira Carsen and T7 so far. Kira prefers Light Side as a Jedi, and T7 is just the mose awesomesauce character. Almost like my own R2D2, except T7 can heal and fight better than R2!)

Yes, I leveled my Knight as Watchman with two Lighsabers....fun!

 

I played SWTOR at release...leveled 4 (yes four) Jedi Consular Shadows...left the game and when I returned in July my first maxed character was a Knight...then I felt the lure again for the Jedi Shadow...and *sighs* leveled my fifth...now I'm doing Ops with him, and waiting for chapter X of KotFE. 

 

EDIT: ...and I claim my first top page since my triumphant return....well...not triumphant really...*sigh*...whatever, top of the page for me...
