The more you know! *hands everyone a can of cold Dr. Pepper to celebrate this day of learning about the American culture*
I ended up in the boss' office once at a job because I said a very innocent word to someone and they thought I meant it in a slang-insult version of it.. I had ZERO idea the word was used in that terminology as well as the innocent kid-safe meaning I knew. I was so surprised. I also got fired for not knowing that word was slang for something not-kidsafe as well.

Once they drop some real solid info for people to go totally nuts about we will definitely have to set up shop in there or miss out on the many self-poisonsing and mocking opportunities that will present.

eh, that wasn't even the worst story of me being fired from a job that i have. The other big, no real excuse, one was when I ended up in hospital for 4 days.. got out to a phonecall saying don't bother coming back in, you no longer have a job here because you weren't in for a few days.. they knew I was in hospital, sick, since they were the ones that called the ambulance.
edit: that was 5 years ago, I haven't had a job since.

I think the only other one I remember was when a customer made me cry, and the manager ordered me to leave and not come back.
Gotta love being a casual shift worker, I'm expendable at all times and worth nothing lol. Anyway, that's all there is to my job stories. Now on 5 years of doing absolutely nothing except recover from those 3 events (all happened the same year, one after the other).. and 2-1/2 years with a kid.

Ah, yes. That very thing I was reminded of last year one week before I went on vacation. Cheers, sista.

Something similar happened to someone I knew at the last place I worked. He started. A week later, his misses had gone into labour, so he needed a few days to, y'know, take care of her. The boss fired him, even though he knew the reason why he wasn't in. Then, not 2 weeks after that, the boss left for a few weeks for the exact same reason.
