Did you see the season finale? 

 

I watched the last episode in the series. yes.  It was an interesting way to go, I thought.  Maybe all the whiners will stop complaining about Clara now - eventually, anyway - and, of course, find something else to complain about.  Seriously the number of people who hate it but for some reason keep watching is ridiculous.

I do tend to think of Who as the worst most....I'm probably going to use the wrong word here which Lyn will gleefully correct...masochist of the major fandoms.  We think the DA/ ME fandom is bad?  Oh nelly.  The GoT fandom is pretty horrible too.  On the bright side one of the major fandoms that actually seems nice is the SWs one...but of course then you have PT versus OT nonsense.  I fear though some of the same things happening to DA that is happening in Who.  You will have Gaider purists versus devotees of Weekes.  Like with Moffat and RTD.  (Huge Moffat fan btw).  

 

And yes, I enjoyed the hell out of this season finale.  Best season finale, at least, since the Wedding of River Song.  Maybe the best ever.

I found it funny and confusing the first time I read it here moments ago because I'm in the middle of developing this story about yet another hero (like Marvel, DC and such) and he's Shadowalker, aka SW.

 

So as I kept reading I could not think of any other possiblity even though mine was impossible.

Are you excited for River Song to return in the Christmas special? I only know and watched a bit of Who but I'm thinking it's quite cool. 

And I have to admit I mostly watched the Ten and Eleven stuff because of being forced to by friends... 

Eleven is the best.  

 

And....yes and no.  I mean I am so bloody torn because I think Capaldi and Alex Kingston is going to sizzle together on screen BUT the way they ended things in...uh...trying to think of the episode...Night of the Doctor...hmmm anyways the last scene between her and Matt Smith was phenemonal and I really think Moff is risking stepping on some serious toes.  Mind you from the trailers it seems like this is reeallllllly early days for the two of them which is a probable plus and might explain a few things.  But yeah, waiting and seeing.  

 

And as much as I love Capaldi's acting, especially the last two episodes, I just can't quite get used to him as the Doctor.  Eleven probably always will be *my* Doctor.  He was just an adorable teddy bear and my best friend.  

 

Odd on that subject too I tend to pick up mannerisms from each of the Doc's.  From 10 I got my love of the word's Allons-y and Molto Bene.  From Eleven I got the need to clap and point at things randomly.  12, I have not picked up any of 12s yet.

The amount of SW merchandise in local Tesco is... well, I was seeing Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, R2, C3PO, and even the Millenium Falcon all day.

 

Rey really doesn't look bad, but I had to ask myself: Why a staff. In a universe where they have lightsabers that can cut through nearly anything.

Also, she doesn't control the Force, so she can't use it as one, can she.

I think that's why I like Jar Jar so much. Everyone else dislikes him (that I've known in the past when first watching the movies) and I could relate as everyone hated me then too.

 

I too enjoy the theory of Jar Jar being a master Sith manipulator. I mean, it connects the dots nicely.

 

And everyone's a ****. You're perfectly fine as far as I can tell.

 

I actually took a lot of offense to that intended phrasing so I'm going to go somewhere else for a little bit.

Well on the subject of Rey's staff there are Lightsaber resistant metals in the SWs universe, Cortoisis (sp?) weave for one.  On the subject of having to be a force user to use Lightsabers.  Not really.  Both Han and General Grevious have used Lightsabers, the latter in actual combat, and neither of them were strong in the Force...at least I think.  Granted measure of Force Talent makes you use sabers effectively, harder to cut off your own limbs, more effective at using them to block incoming blows...etc.
