He appears to be plotting revenge in that picture.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll step on my face some time tonight.  Or make a bid at my dinner.  Worth it though  :P

What's crackin'!!?

This is a landmark for me. I was just directly accused of being a SJW for the first time.

That must be a drink.

That's an entire keg, and some laughs!

Fired up Jade Empire for the first time and was soon hit by the spinny camera bug.  Can we say motion sickness?

I figured it out a bit too late to want to play it any more this evening.  Perhaps tomorrow.

Why is it always Social Justice Warriors?  Where are the Social Justice Rogues and Social Justice Mages?

I don't like being stuck in one little category.

You know evrery time I start crushing on a girl either IRL or a 'celebrity' always have to wonder about her political/ philosophical beliefs. And how big a deal it would be.

Why should either be a big deal anyway.

I know you guys don't get a lot of that from me but to me it has been...well traditionally...a pretty big deal.  Not as much as it once was I guess.  But its still there.  And my politics always have seemed pretty...unique. Have lost several friends due to my foreign policy opinions or gay marriage opinions or my foreign policy.  Or other people being racist on my wall.

Just saying "politics" or "philosophy" doesn't say much to me.

It's always about the specifics :P

You can be with someone without it being a big deal, even when they disagree with you. It's really not that hard unless you choose to want nothing to do with people if they have differing opinions. That's all i meant as to why I said it really isn't a big deal lol. understanding and accepting differing opinions is the key.

I find that true to an extent. On, like, abstract principles.

Not when I see something serious at stake. I don't care about differences then. In this case, I can identify with Al... if that's what he means.

Well if I go into specifics Lyn will likely start glaring at me. :P  And her gaze could melt diamond.

Indeed.  Me and my gf also has pretty different opinions on a lot of things and we have been together for a while.  So I know it can happen just something I always wonder.  I mean hell not that I had a crush on her or anything but I once shared a care with Marina Sirtis and Levar Burton and she was going off on gun control and Michael Vick and I was sitting there right next to them having to bite my tongue because they were there for business and it was a work thing and I was just sitting here grinding my teeth and she all turns to me and is like "What do you think?"

True, there's always the excessive exception.. the only things that make me not interested in someone (as friends or even acquaintances) is racism and intolerance . So pretty much, just how they treat other people.

Yeah exactly in a way abstract principles are always easy to understand maybe even tolerate to a degree but when you get down to specifics, it gets nitty gritty.

My big exception tends to be when someone believes it is justifiable to threaten human life.  Innocent human life.  I mean this might sound like a pretty 'duh' statement but you have to understand my politics to udnerstand what I mean.

Thanks.

I've been ill off and on this week.  I was feeling well enough to try out some new games and:

First new game I tried wouldn't launch so I put in for a refund.

The second game had the spins.

The new Qunari Inky and I are getting along, though.

Edited to add picture of said Qunari.

Innocent human life. Like abortion? I'll take the fire if someone gets mad :P

I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm against it. Choice is something I generally want to side on, but it isn't the end all be all ideal to me. And I'd never have a romantic relationship with anyone who thinks that.

But have you and ravenesse actually met in the real world?

Are we in the Matrix here? :P

I kid, but as someone who has actively studied relationships and communication, it bothers me that the general language surrounding online communication still treats it as if it were somehow not communication. In fact, the dissociation is often the reason for bullying and/or other atrocious behavior that people engage in, because they are acting is if there weren't really another person receiving their messages. We are meeting in the real world now. We just aren't doing so synchronously, face-to-face.

Right now, my hair is in "growing out" phase.. which is the worst.

Yeah, I hate how slowly my facial hair grows. I wish I were one of those guys who gets a five o'clock shadow, but I just get slow, curly, patchy hair that looks terrible for about two weeks before enough has grown in to make it look intentional.

I got to tackle all those big questions when I was pregnant, since it wasn't planned. Still firm against abortion, except for one exception: if the unborn child in first half of pregnancy has a major/life threatening to child birth defect - meaning structural (missing body parts etc), organ issues/failures/missing, heart defect.

Yeah, I agree there are exceptions. I don't want kids to suffer either.. and die anyways :\

Life of the mother tends to be my only exception, but tbh I never *thought* about that too hard before and if the kid would die anyways then that too would probably be one.

I feel like I should put on protective gear for this one.  I was just going to stay out of it.  I loathe to make this place unpleasant by dealing with heavy issues here, but here goes:

My mother had two miscarriages and another baby who died just a few hours after being born.  I was premature, the labor was extremely difficult, and my mother had to have a hysterectomy afterwards.  I don't know if abortion was discussed (It's not brought up around me.), but I wouldn't be surprised.

That said, I am pro-choice.  As noted, there are sometimes exceptions that need to be made to prevent the baby from needless suffering if it is indeed hopeless or to protect the health of the mother.  The last thing anyone needs when they are in that situation is having to 'prove' it to a government official so that the procedure can be done.

I also believe exceptions should be made in the case of incest and rape.  If that makes me a horrible person, so be it.
