I do keep meaning to ask. Is it worth playing without paying? Or is it too hobbled and abridged that way?
ehh depends on who you ask and how often you're likely to play. as free to play you get reduced experience gain, but you have full access to all class stories, and planet story arcs. limits are on flashpoints, operations, pvp, galactic starfighter (so you know, any group req'd stuff really) as well as inventory slots/cargo hold slots etc
you know what, go see this link for all that info http://www.swtor.com/free/features... like any free to play mmo, majority of it is restricted yet you can purchase unlocks rather then subscribing etc (these can also be purchased off other players, who bought them with real money, for in-game cash).
Subscribing (even for just a month) gives all 3 expansions for free, this does not get removed once your sub days run out.

Oh how I wish I had a like. Because you could have gone in another direction with this and pointed out the obvious counter to my argument. ![]()
I mean it gives the feeling that she has been looking for me forever and almost gave up, then finally she realizes, I could be in the armor because someone (likely Donk) stuck me in there.

I still say the best MMO ever is EVE. Only thing missing is a crew mechanic.

Aw :3 *hugs back* Paragon!
Yeah, not bad so far. I just finished a certain indie game I was playing but won't mention in case I decide to use it in the game-guessing game ![]()
Now I'm reading some Civilization V thingies (I bought it for my brother as a birthday present, since he wanted it really badly and couldn't stop talking about it) so when he stops playing I can try it (we have the Steam library-sharing thingy).

Civ V is actually a good game but the lack of airlifting capabilities pisses me the hell off.

Well, they're playing all the movies and something called Star Wars Rebels? I don't know what that is.
I was surprised to discover that Star Wars Rebels is AWESOME. For something that might be thought of as just a kid's show it is really good and VERY Star Wars. Plus one of the main characters is voiced by that Freddie Prinze Jr chap ![]()

I played EVE for a while. The biggest problem I had with it was all the other people playing it who were determined to ruin my fun.

Freddie Prinz is awesome. Surprisingly mature storylines (for the most part) and the Empire actually feels very threatening. Much better story then SWs:FU. Only thing really missing is none of the major characters have died yet. Walking Dead and GoT has spoiled me. ![]()
Still nowhere near as good as TCW.

That to. Meh it eventually got to the point where I was getting annoyed at how long it was taking me to get new skills. That and my fist forray into low sec..well second actually because my first week I actually went to 0.0 space for a while...but yeah second trip I got jumped by a pair of frigates which shut me down and ripped my BC well apart.

I joined up with a small fleet a few times to fly around nullsec (the no security areas where PvP is unrestricted) and blow up random people. I was a very small cog in a larger machine though. I lost my ship more times than I personally took one out or even significantly contributed.
Otherwise I made a few low- or nullsec runs for more interesting resources and got wiped out. And got annihilated when I explored through some wormholes - the then-new exploration was the thing that initially interested me but it wasn't that good, just deadly at my 'level'.
In short, either lots of uninteresting fetch-and-fight missioning or lots of being blown up by other players. Got bored of that.

You sound so enthusiastic about it, that's the kind of thing that makes me pick up a game that I haven't considered before. I hadn't really thought about ME until I came on here.

Tbf I don't watch a lot of TV - too busy hogging it with my PS4. The last thing I really got into was The Big Bang Theory. I'm way behind on a lot of current tv shows.

You know in Civ I always named my Battleships/ Carriers after my Crushes. All my crushes. My fleet was actually getting pretty large the last time I played. But I have never commissioned a USS Daisy Ridley.

The voice actor for Vash The stampede (english version) is the voice actor for one of the swtor companions, I found this out today and squealed like a fangirling teen who just saw their 'hot' pop-singer crush....

haha, it's a phase I get once a year or more often when there's no other exciting new games around. I always go back to two mmo's.. swtor and lotro. Not kidding either, always.. always.. go back to them but for story + some action and ability to play completely solo if you want? swtor all the way.
