Eh sorry you felt that way. The biggest change was the exploration aspect. I assume that's what you didn't like the most?

No, I'm pretty forgiving with a lot of mechanics.

It's the plot. The banal treatment of it's theme (faith). The protagonist.

DA2's exploration sucked bad.. but this is sort of like DAI's version of copy-paste maps to me. But worse.

I really should be more sensitive given I also went through this with Walking Dead.

Nah, we all have movies, games, characters we obsess about. There are things I do that make people go, "Not this again. Ugh."

Yeah it seems so. Although they seem to be more humorous than the ones in DAI. One particular troll is rather amusing.

I used to be the worst with music. Drag people in car rides, just to hear a band or something. Sometimes they liked it though.

Wait... here's something else I want to put forth. I can't help but see stories like DAI in insidious, corporate driven terms.

The job of a company to a consumer is, bottom line, make them feel empty. And that they have the product to fill that void. Stories like this don't feel like stories to me as much as they do a simple product. They fill the void of being an average person not being heeded in the world, not having a big say in politics/religion/etc.. Companies don't even have to make you feel this void, because for many, it's already there. So the product end is just about fulfilling the desire rather than creating the need. How wonderful is it to be a random hero from anywhere, where you dictate everything, down to people's very beliefs, and are listened to no matter what.

And I think a lot of games do this. Not just this game. I'm not necessarily singling it out. Sometimes I see these big gaming expos and notice the marketers talking in these terms when they have their presentation speeches... Sometimes it's fun, but I just think DAI took it to a blatant extreme. And played with the subject of faith, which makes me more annoyed. And players embrace it themselves, so I can't say it isn't what they want. I'd be wrong. And they reject things that swing the opposite way sometimes. Like DA2.

Well, at least tell me it's TL;DR AF next time <_<

Dave bought a second owner? I didn't know Dave was in that kind of business.

As requested, Sera donning the Santa hat with bonus Fade 'Christmas' lights.

Spoiler

Perfection.

Reality, you suck.

Forever, and ever, and ever.

Remember the good old days when we took a shot every time someone mentioned "Witcher", "MMO", and "Fetch Quest"?

Pepperridge farm remembers.

Also, so do I.

My opinion of DAI has changed so many times it isn't funny.

When it was first released I loved it. My first run was great and the only issue I had with it was how anti climatic the ending was. Imo, for a game to be truly amazing it has to have an end battle that sends chills down your spine.

The first and second ME is a good example of what I'm talking about. Especially ME1, when you go to Ilos and talk to that prothean AI, discover the big revelation about the Citadel then go forth to beat Saren and stop the reapers.

DAO also had a brilliant ending.

On my second run I started to notice things like my choices and dialogue options not really making a difference. Then I started to notice other minor details.

And yeah, the open world aspect sucks. It has improved since BW gave us more satisfying loot drops because the crafting is great.

I went off Inquisition for a long time. I was burnt out.. Then the Trespasser DLC came out and I loved it all over again. Choices made a difference (I.e if the rescued or sacrificed the chargers, put Cullen back on lyrium, etc)

What DAI suffers from most, imo (and at a guess) was last minute decision making. For instance implementing the different races.

Despite having that choice it's pretty obvious the game was tailored for a human only Inquisitor. Dalish elves for instance, shouldn't sound like posh Brits. Tal Vashoth, even though they reject the Qunari doctrine, shouldn't be humans with horns. That much was shown in DA2.

Thanks for writing. Too many words or not. Heh. Perhaps I'll change my opinion too. There are still some things I like. And I haven't even played the DLC.

What's funny is after typing that I went and watched that movie ExistenZ I was talking about earlier. It's kind of about some of the things I said.. how games have the potential for too much escapism. And it's about these terrorists who kill a game designer.. They're "Realists".

Hopefully I won't go over the edge that much.

Ugh, a Dalish elf would know who Mythal is. >.> It still breaks my immersion. (DRINK) Actually, that whole quest has a few **** ups. But yeah, you can definitely tell the game was focused on a human protagonist.

She skipped that lesson. It would be even more embarrassing of she had Mythal vallaslin instead of June.

Case in point of the superiorty of humans, did a human seal off the veil and completly wreck their entire civilization? Nooooo I don't think so.

Still it would have been hillarious:

Inquisitory: Who is Mythal?

*everyone looks at her*

...I am asking for the humans.
