meet on a neutral planet yes, chat to someone on other faction no. also need to be on the same server. I think me, Dienne and Serza are on The Harbinger which is PvE server so need to be flagged for pvp on the planets or enter a pvp zone to attack other faction (which also need to be flagged or in designated zone)

I should add now until last day of dec is great for starting. double experience bonus event is on, free to play can almost do solely the class quests to level. Gotta smatter in 1 planet arc's worth for some gear at least and exp but much better then any other time haha.

That depends.  Most races are tied to specific sides of the Force but...and I don't know the details on this...there are ways you can play races from one alignment on the other.  Probably has to do with subscription or unlocking them or something.

There's some unlocks. I can't remember if they're achievement-based or purchase-based, but as I understood, you can even play as a Sith when Republic...

(That said, you can always play Republic as Human and Imp as Sith, to my knowledge)
