I do enjoy DAI, but I definitely agree with this. Corypheus was not handled well. Not really. If it's dealing with difficulty, you apply a scale that takes into account your level and the level of items you have. If it's dealing with making them actually dangerous, and villainous, you write towards that. DA:I had bad writing in this manner. He felt like a schooby doo villain and not some wanna be god. They wrote all of his scenes wrong. They didn't show of his level of power. They didn't give us reason to fear him. There wasn't anything in the game to tell us that this guy is the real deal. That's one of my biggest gripes with this game. They couldn't even get their villain right.

OMG, It's DLC? I had no idea! This changes absolutely everything! I know they couldn't reveal a lot, but they didn't have to be so insufferably vague about it. The fact that it is DLC makes it all the more frustrating to me.
Like I said I didn't find it vague, really at all. I understood pretty much everything was going on.

And yet its something that most games get wrong in my opinion from my experience. Either make them to easy, by virtue of the fact that you have been building your power throughout the entire game, and so they are ******, or they are way too uber hard...or it comes down to a QTE love fest. I can't think of a single game I have played with a good end game boss. Actually wait. DA 2. Freaking Meredith man.

You know, the more i learn about Hellblade the more i like it. They are really taking the mental illness angle seriously:
While schizophrenia is thankfully not in my laundry list of issues, i HAVE experienced a sleep-deprivation induced psychosis-like episode while in the army with full audio and visual hallucinations with accompaniying paranoia. Still the most terrifying experience of my life. But at least it went away with sleep and i somehow managed to hold myself together enough carry out my duties. Living with stuff like that 24/7 would be living hell.
Interesting. I don't have experience with it per se either, but I was mistakenly diagnosed that way once (but it was drugs).

Specify. I mean sigh.
I only had two questions going into the DLC, what are Titans, and why did they wake up all of a sudden? Both of those were answered. I had only one real question coming out, what else is down beneath the Deep Roads? And kinda sorta what happened to Valta? But not really a question for me considering I certainly put enough inference in it that I can pretty much guess what happened to her.

So i just yesterday installed Neverwinter Nights 2 again and am already regretting it. It's addictive as anything but every little thing takes a day and a half to do. Must...finish...awesome...character...story X_x
I never could get far in it. I might have given it another chance one day.
At the time, I hated Obsidian.. both for that and for Kotor 2. Then NV and AP won me over again.

The good thing about boss fights is that there are literally thousands of ideas to rip off. You don't have to be original necessarily.
But RPG developers tend to have their heads up their asses in general and just emphasize stats and health. Typical video games revolve boss fights around pattern recognition instead. The RPGs that do it well borrow this instead of stick in a PnP mindset.

Everything at the end after you kill the titan guardian. I thought Solas was good at non-answers. That boiled egg has nothing on Valta. I am seriously confused about what the **** happened.Specify. I mean sigh.

All this Descent talk has made me realize how I'm so not looking forward to going through it with Maeve.

Never got into PnP but the typical Bioware boss fight isn't all that far removed from World of Warcraft, the sole exception that I can remember being Malvernis from DA2 Legacy.
Everything else is a health sponge.

Yeah, Warcraft is mostly like that afaik. I heard they gave patterns/puzzles for the raid bosses though.. But I'd never play anything like that.

That 'mph' was an onomatopoeia (edited my post to make it more clear).
Since when is that a rule?
Since the early days of the DQ.

I'm the reason for that rule too.
