Yeah, Warcraft is mostly like that afaik. I heard they gave patterns/puzzles for the raid bosses though.. But I'd never play anything like that.

Raid bosses and Heroic dungeon bosses have patterns. You can usually use an add-on that will tell you what to do and when, but otherwise, it can be quite difficult.

Sounds cool, if I had it in me for an mmo. I played when it came out, but never got even to lvl 40. I played MMOs before that, so I guess I got burned out. I kind of knock the whole genre more than average RPGs, but I'm sure there's some good stuff out there. Single player RPGs at least have more immersion and story to lean on, if the gameplay sucks.

Mph... At least WoW bosses have mechanics *drink*

As I haven't played enough of WoW to talk crap about it, I'll take your word for it.

To be fair, I'll hurl similar criticism towards shooters, just because they often revolve around targetting (and maybe some map experience.. especially multiplayer). I think when games lose their strategy or puzzling aspect, it's for the worst. Only the Japanese do it consistently.

I think Shooters kind of fell into the same hole as fighting games in that everything has been done with the genre, it's just a question of what different games emphasise.

Well, what I mean is that even MGS and Resident Evil have unique bosses. I can't think of American shooters like that. Although I'm sure I'm missing something.. I must be.

Mass Effect sort of tries it with Saren/Kai Leng, but it's pretty lame. The Rannoch Reaper wasn't bad though. At least the first time.

Why not? I'm just curious. You can make it believable.. patterns are in real life. Moreso in melee scraps and such, but still.

I don't really want to emphasize "real life" though. Bottom line is that I just want games. Gamey games. And the worst thing that can happen to a game is if you know how everything works. Which is a problem for certain genres like shooters. That's why they're more popular as multiplayer -- because players want the unpredictable.. so they seek others. But the game should provide that itself as well.

So, Maeve keeps her vallaslin, but I had to wonder what she looked like without it. Raccoon eyes thing going on like Aislann had.

Spoiler

Pretty...

She just looks so good, Vallaslin or not...

She's so pretty though...

I know, right...

*shakes head away to get rid of dreamy look*

lol.. fair enough. I think the awkwardness is kinda funny.

I suppose Isabela is my favorite of the bunch, but my main Hawke romanced Anders..who she killed.

Talk about a dark ending to love... But I understand where it came from.

Found a nifty little mod.

Screenshot20151227225952849_zps0qmouc3o.

I just headcanon she got the scar during the initial Breach.

Drinking is top priority!

ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

It's apparently full of lore. And I'm sure it'll be interesting, but... Tresspasser... And marrying Sera!

...All the yesses! Every friggin' one!

Skip Descent. Go straight to Trespasser.

Or don't... it's a pretty cool part of the game with awesome eargasmic music, even if it adds exceptionally little to the story.

I liked it, and I tell ya: Valta is the new... no, wait, she isn't.

Everything at the end after you kill the titan guardian. I thought Solas was good at non-answers. That boiled egg has nothing on Valta. I am seriously confused about what the **** happened.

I think she became a part of the Titan. Not quite herself anymore. Something was very, very off. I was, at the time, yelling at my screen that we just witnessed Corypheus v2.0

That 'mph' was an onomatopoeia (edited my post to make it more clear).

Since the early days of the DQ.

I can't even pronounce that word....

I see.

bViLaT1.gif

Ok, I did laugh when BB8 did that in the movies...

Because the flow of the game just comes to a crashing halt whenever a bossfight happens. The appearance of one enemy who completely stops the show when you've mopped the floor with everything that has come before just doesnt work in the fast-paced world of shooters in my opinion. The best "boss" fights ive come across in shooters are actually huge fights with action sequences that don't stop the overall flow but bring it to its climax.

That's a good point. Lets just say that I think you could occasionally set the stage for one sometimes. Not that I want it all the time.

What I most liked about Mass Effect... in the rare times it was difficult.. was being swarmed, in a tight space. Like Insanity Collector Ship or Insanity Grissom. Kind of gave me that classic game pausing feel I'd get in their older games sometimes.

But then I got good at that too.

It could've been during the Dawn of the Seeker, but I haven't actually seen that, so I can't judge. I don't even think her scar is a retcon, just a reminder that she probably had stuff to do the past two or so years (Varric is interrogated in 9:40, right, and Inquisition starts 9:41)

And I can't remember Makarov fight at the end of Modern Warfare 3. I mean, I tend to forget insignificant campaigns of poor games that I haven't completed more than once (and that was out of boredom)

I like the idea that another Seeker got the jump on her.

But as for DA2, it seems like she and Leli and Varric and Cullen all left towards Ferelden after the game. Unless I'm missing something.

The interrogation could've been late in the year, and it just took them a few months to get to the Conclave/before the Conclave started, jumping them to the next year. Completely plausible.

But the scar, we could argue and both be right, because that's kind of a headcanon thing now. I don't think they'll go as deep as to confirm when Cassie got a scar.

Yeah, I don't want to argue it either.. it's just mysterious. For awhile, I thought it took longer for the Conclave, but when I started thinking they went there fairly quickly, I thought she should have the scar. When she talks to Varric, it seems like she's already been through hell anyways.. when he talks about the Chantry tearing itself apart. So I headcanoned she had the scar from that.

Too bad they don't explore all the backstory with the Chantry stuff. Because all I give a **** about is the mage/templar war. Not how dwarven babies were born. :P

Cassandra's scars looks pretty fresh to my eyes. I'd say less than a year old judging from the redness.

Yeah, I think it's fresh.. I don't mean she had it forever. I mean I think it could make sense that she could have had it during the interrogation. Because that wasn't that long before the Conclave.. and the Chantry factions were already fighting each other by the time she spoke to Varric.

Honestly i'd say it would be a miracle for Cass&co to get in and out of Kirkwall during the aftermath of THE EVENT without getting in to a scrap or ten along the way. Loony templars, loony mages, demons, your avarage loony citizens of Kirkwall... :P

I suppose that works. I could just delete the mod anytime if I change my mind :P

It's just not very interesting if it was a typical scrap. I wanted an epic showdown with a near-equal.
