[Lynroy: Final Edition]

Huh, that's weird.  Normally a change of avatar affects all posts, but Foley's just changes from that first post with the new one onwards, and the old ones are still OB-GYN.  Never seen that before.

That's similar to what I can think of.. but then I wonder how that worked out. Since the family forced them in a position to begin with. Were they a black sheep then, going against the family? Now I feel like I'm really ripping off Sebastian (thanks again, Bioware. Millions clamored for something like this. We just LOVED Sebastian so much we wanted to play as him. Not).

Depends how religious the character is, I suppose.  The codex entry says "expected to follow suit... until the disaster at the Conclave."  So the family could've been expecting that for some time!  It doesn't mean the Inky-to-be accepted it or showed any interest or intent themselves.  And unless they were really against their family, being at the Conclave "as a representative of his/her family's interest" can still work.

It is not an excuse when they meant it to be that way in the first place.

 

It isn't that open. We're shoved into specific corners and categories. Merc/Smuggler/Chantry-Family-Noble stooge. With the human mundane, fairly specific backstory and obligations.

 

And you can't mix and match things, like Shepard (Earthborn/Colonist.. + Career) or be open like a TES game. It's a far cry from that.. where you're literally a prison out of nowhere in every installment. It's almost a joke at this point. All of their protags are soulless compared to Bioware games.

 

David Gaider only recommended headcanoning later after launch. Probably because he heard complaints like mine.. and knows it sucks.

Ahhhh Foley is enjoying two of his favorite things.  He kicked so much ass in DA and now is watching Babylon 5.  As a complete side note I think this party is by far the snazziest dressed I have ever created.  my mission to find fade touched silveright is not working, though I did take Suledin Keep.  So win-lose I guess?
