I'm (again) not in the mood to Trespass, so at least I'm bulk-uploading all of my Lyna videos from the base game AND the Descent.

One does not simply do Trespasser. One has to be mentally prepared for it.

Did you guys leave the Warden (whoever he was in your playthrough) or Hawke in the Fade?

Exactly. Doesn't help I've been mentally preparing myself for a few months now.

I had to say sorry to him, but the Glorystache had to stay. And I swear, I actually thought about it not from my own point of view (liking my Hawke, Caterina, and not being able to easily rob Merrill of her love) but from the point of the Inquisitor, who ALREADY met a former Warden that might have major sway with the Order (King Alistair, albeit briefly) and in the end, I came to the conclusion that from Arianne's point of view, Caterina Hawke was more worth to her alive than Warden Stroud.

Why would it make more sense to leave the Warden and not Hawke?

Stroud was no icon to them... Hawke was more of an icon than Stroud, and they might follow her.

I had Stroud, since Loghain was long dead since the Blight, and Alistair was the King...

Which play through?
I've left both in the Fade.

I'd never leave Hawke in the Fade. In my mind, it's only a spiteful choice for people who hate DA2. They finally get to act out on their hate in-game. ![]()
And I'm not one of them.

Well, as for making sense, I never saw death as a particular theme for Hawke. It's written all over my Warden stories though. I suppose Stroud lives up to it too. And if I had Loghain, he's just begging for it.

Does it make more sense for it to be Hawke going to the Anderfels?

I suppose it could make sense if they had built up some dialogue with Wardens. Maybe just because Wardens wanting to know more after Legacy. Or building some friendship with Stroud. Or more questions about the Expedition, like Nathaniel had. Or if you had a relationship with Anders.
For someone who is not a Warden (or even without Carver or Bethany as Wardens), Hawke is still kind of intertwined with them.

I loved DA2 but I still let my Hawke go. She asked me so I let her, the second playthrough though ..

You had a very strong point when you said Loghain just screams for a good, honorable end. Now I'm wondering if I should have killed him in origins to begin with...

I don't know what to say there. He's one of my favorite characters, but for my main playthrough, I executed him. Yet I like the idea of the Warden forcing him to live. Loghain dying in DAI sounds cool, but I've never played it or seen his cameo.

You know what, I didn't (well I did for the loss of my Hawke) because it felt right - knowing more of the lore than I had previously. Here's a thing I did get very upset over the ending of LiS (I'll spoiler now just in case) but ...

Yes. My Warden (Cousland Male) would give anything for the order, and even more to stay alive. He's also cold and rational, so he found it a better punishment in letting Loghain live with what he'd done, and the new name of "traitor" that he'd gained for himself.
He's changed quite a bit. He's set in preserving the order. I would think my Warden would find that very agreeable. And truth be told, he's, nevertheless, a great leader. And Hawke isn't...
