Yes. My Warden (Cousland Male) would give anything for the order, and even more to stay alive. He's also cold and rational, so he found it a better punishment in letting Loghain live with what he'd done, and the new name of "traitor" that he'd gained for himself.

 

He's changed quite a bit. He's set in preserving the order. I would think my Warden would find that very agreeable. And truth be told, he's, nevertheless, a great leader. And Hawke isn't...

 

My main Warden died. So him and Loghain got the same fate.

 

As for Hawke, I never saw them as being much of a leader in the first place. So I won't hold it against them. DA2 is mostly an immigrant story to me.. and just someone getting caught up in major events, even though their original intent was just trying to build a future. Instead of death or duty, I just see their story as someone trying to find a home. It bums me out if they die.

Well, it's kind of worse.. because their leadership is public, professional, and official. Hawke is just part of a band of adventurers. It's pretty casual for the most part. It never had any of the Inquisition's presumptions.

What do you mean? There's really no overall mission for Hawke to be around, Other than to find a home, I mean. It's seems pretty intentional, because most of the characters revolve around this too. Merrill's convos are all about finding a new path in the world, cut off from her home. Fenris talks about having a home often and being on the run. Anders doesn't even have an identity in his own body anymore..he can't lay down any roots at all. Aveline is trying to make one, but struggling by herself. Sebastian's home was wiped out. Not to mention Carver and Bethany.

 

The game rests on a humble motivation. It never pushed any kind of job or duty. Except when talking to crazed Duty bound characters. Like Tallis and Meredith expected the "Champion" to live up to something.

You know what, I didn't  (well I did for the loss of my Hawke) because it felt right - knowing more of the lore than I had previously.  Here's a thing I did get very upset over the ending of LiS (I'll spoiler now just in case) but ...

I did not hesitate to say goodbye to Chloe, I didn't even really have to think, there wasn't a chance in hell that I would have picked my best friend over a full town of people and children - and believe me, I don't think that was a popular choice.  She asked me......... begged me and I respected that - not previously because she begged me to end her life as she was sick, but because she was asking for others.  I loved Chloe more in that moment than any other time...

 

And then, on the subject of LiS and endings, you might get....

You only get the kiss if you kissed her before and you choose, as Serza puts it, "bay over bae".

 

And I'll admit it.... I've looked at the "bay" choice (obviously) but.... after much agonising.... I chose "bae" first.  After everything else I'd done.... I couldn't abandon her to that fate.

 

And as far as I'm aware, Max always survives.  There's no choice option for double sacrifice.  Thankfully - I don't think hearts around the world could've taken it!
