I just read a thread about swearing, full of swearing.. and when it wasn't swearing it was people arguing with others who like swearing.

I guess he killed the archdemon. Technically, it was Loghain (But again, they love him too).

 

But still. Lots of little details with evil Wardens were overlooked.

 

 

A part of me feels sorry for Jaime. The kingslayer thing really bugs him even if he denies it.. he tried to do the right thing once.

I just need a dwarf somewhere in my world state. Because I don't plan on one again. And I'm hoping Tevinter provides a good opportunity for a City Elf. That could be my de facto elf. Somewhere further down the line, I'll make a Qunari.

I don't really want to, but I'd warm up to it if it actually had some context. All of the North would have such a story. I don't play races simply because of appearances. Or some childish bullshit like "Motherfucking horns!!!" I don't categorize real races by appearances either. Culture is a lot more else. It's also why I still like the dwarves in DAO. If they're gonna keep pushing pretend humans and Varric clones though, I'm not interested.

Though I will defend Varric to death, because his entire "embracing surface culture" and all the included effects are properly and frequently explored. Also because I really like Varric.

 

Honestly though, the only one I really thought they were overdoing it a little with was The Iron Bull. On the other hand, I never fully explored his character, so maybe there's a lot more to him.

Dwarves are either Varric rip-offs (their attitude, their thoughts, et cetera), or act as humans, not dwarves. Basically, so long as we don't see Orzammar or Kal Sharok or any other Dwarven city with people we can talk to, this will never get better.

Varric is cool. I can't hate him. The surface thing is just two games in a row now. While from what I know, Kal Sharok is much different.. and even then, they have a pact with Tevinter somehow.. so there's a surface thing going there too.

 

edit: Slimmed this before I make it too long of a rant.

 

 

Anyways, I adjusted my dwarf to at least save Redcliffe. He is a Commander, after all. Even if an ass. Don't go cheering though.. He killed Connor. And made that Zerlinda woman throw her baby in the Deep Roads. Leliana left in disgust.
