In answer to the over all point that Poodle is making:

Things with 'Daddy issues,' does not bad entertainment make.

Mass Effect, a franchise consisting of at least three games, wildly successful critically and financially, has tons of characters with parental issues. My personal favorite of the series, ME 2, virtually the entire crew suffered from Daddy, Mother, or off spring related issues which the PC then had to go solve.

Dragon Age: Another series of wildly successful games, critically and financially, also include several characters with issues with their family. Be they sister (Ali) Mother (Morrigan) Or father....I know there is one but its not occuring to me.

Game of Thrones one of the most popular shows on the planet is built off of family problems. Everything from the Lannisters, Tyrion hates what's-his-face, and while Jamie and Cersei often play the dutiful children, they are also very much spiteful of their lot in life and rebuke...what's his faces...authority. AND even the Starks have mother issues, both Robb and Jon Snow at times REALLY hated Caitlyn.

Harry Potter. Forget the Dursleys for a second Harry even had a lot of his problems at how much of a little **** his father was to Snape at times.

And Star Wars...the other original trilogy was built on daddy issues.
And it makes sense that daddy/ family issues are so effective in fiction and constantly repeated.

 

And general comments on acting. 

 

Both John Boyega and Adam Driver have previously been in other films/ tv shows.

And to add...ugh.  Anyways I don't really care about plot.  After a writing tradition which stretches back millenia its hard to find an original plot so I just, don't care about that...at all.  A plot has to be noticably bad for me to get worked up over it.  Though I would applaud a great plot ever day of the week.  But its characters that I am after.

I was surprised I took so well to the theory. It was like unlocking information in my brain that I already knew. Everything just made sense, and I could go back to the few songs I had written and see exactly what I had done.

Give me sheets! Sexy sexy sheets. With all those lines, sharps, flats, naturals, accidentals, chords, intervals, slurs, tied notes... I prefer sheets in front of me to learning by ear. I can do it, I'll just end up writing down what I hear so I don't forget it ever. The number of hours I spent listening to Suicide Mission, trying to listen to individual parts, plunking away at my keyboard, and writing it all down on staff paper. That was fun.

Yes. I've experienced this. The quality, evidently, of my writing (especially these last years) has increased immensely, be it grammatically AND plot-wise.

 

I'll never make money out of it. The things I wanna write about are too offensive plus I gotta be in the "mood" or right mindset and my moods are all over the place add to that I rarely finish anything.
