Anyways Abigail Shepard. The 'Valkyrie.' Had a rather interesting back story.

Earthborn, Ruthless. She grew up in the tenth street reds after being placed from hospital to hospital across the Greater Los Angelas area. She would go on to have many boy friends and many sexual partners from a young age learning to 'share bodily warmth' because, cold nights and gangs. That is until one night, one fateful night, where her boyfriend, also in the Reds convinced her to join him in robbing the home of a a wealthy banker. They did so, hoping the man was out late, but he was not, and he was killed in the ensuing struggle. The first responding officers to the scene arrived just as they were fleeing, and in the course of that struggle, Abigail's boyfriend was killed and she was taken into custody, charged with murder. A local Jewish Rabi would intercede on her behalf, a good friend of both the judge's and the dead banker's. He promised he would take care of Abigail and watch her in exchange for her going to prison. The Judge agreed with his decision under the proviso she joined the military when she came of age.

The Rabi and her became fast friends, adopting an almost father daughter relationship. He raised her. But alas...she would join the military. And in an uncertain environment she would fall back in on old habbits, sleeping with many of her class mates and using that to get ahead. As well as her ruthless proficiency when it came to handling weapons and her physical performance results, she was able to get into the Special Forces. And was a part of the siege on Torfan. On Torfan she would lead an assault against the Batarian pirates, but in the ensuing blood bath against a superior position she would lose control of herself and her men. They slaughtered the Batarians to a man, whether or not they were trying to surrender. Without orders. She lost control.

After the court matial she was cleared of all charges, but placed under the command of Commander Anderson, who was leading a mission deep behind enemy lines to unravel a Batarian plot many thought could lead to war. Despite having a death wish the two o them eventually became friends and he bought her bakc to the straight and narrow, eventually offering her the position as XO on the Normandy.

During her mission to hunt down Saren Abigail fell in love with one Kaidan Alenko, finding him charming and finally finding a man she could actually admire instead of just use. His idealism was a good counter balance to her productive cynicism. But during the mission to Virmire Shepard was forced to leave him behind, for the good of the mission, and nuke him. She fell into a dark place. Swearing off men and relationships in general, yet still being quite flirtatious at times, a defense and coping mechanism. She would never risk getting close, just keeping the, and herself, on their toes.

Which was why she was shocked to discover that she developed genuine feelings again, when one man was exactly like her, also flirting in his own way. One James Vega. The two were perfect for one another. Though, initially, he was not interested.

After the Reaper War the Galaxy was in ruins. Though she had defeated the Reapers and convinced them they were wrong in their objectives, there was still a galaxy to rebuild and new missions to undertake. An Alliance R&D firm had salvaged left over bit of Reaper tech which indoctrinated them into launching a plot which would see the return of the Reapers, in some form, and also the end of Galactic civilization as they knew it. This plot managed to infiltrate the top tiers o the Alliance Government forcing Shepard and the crew of the Normandy to launch an all out attack on their corporate head quarters, despite being massively out gunned, and out manned, the pulled it off. Then she proposed marriage to James Vega, he accepted, and was promoted to the rank of Captain in order to head up the new Alliance Special Forces Division on Earth.

But, her role in life was not over. While leading a mission to the Batarian homeworld working with a team deployed from the SSV Normandy Shepard discovered a plot by the Leviathans. To subjigate the governments of the galaxy and then restore themselves as the dominant race. The apex race. Needless to say, once more having to go rogue, and lead a Civil War against her own government, they prevailed.

It was quite difficult at times to play the game as Cam/ Mark Meer.

One thing I did like about DA I, at least both the male/ female brits were very good.

My Earthborn male is similar, but slightly different depending on Soldier or Vanguard. The VG was a red sand addict and his girlfriend died. Kind of like your character's boyfriend, it changed him. Both of my characters were helped by Anderson though. Not a rabbi. So I kind of headcanon where their closeness comes from. Anderson saw their raw skill on the happenstance of being near a crime chase.

Well ironically enough it was a lot of male figures which saved my Shepard at various points of her life.  The Rabbi, and then Anderson...that should be int he back story if it wasn't ...Anderson really helped her out after Torfan and took her in under his wing after she was cleared by her Court Martial Board of all charges. Gave her a new purpose when they took on a mission together.

I wonder if my Chantry dude is a "sinner" in Chantry terms. I actually don't know what their stance is on this kind of vigilante-ism and murder. Elthina in DA2 is adamantly against it with Sebastian, but she still gives Hawke the time of day.

I've been avoiding Jet, Psycho and such for this entire reason... God damn medical supplies to keep her alive are the thing she gets addicted to. Gah.

It was better than Shep though.. the whole Bastila thing, I mean. Liara is kind of intertwined in the same way, but I don't like it.

I really do not like Liara at all.  SHe was the cheer leader, and kinda obssessive fan/ stalker of Shepard.
