Did anyone else ever think that kid from Real Genius looked like Sarah Jessica Parker?

IS IT Sarah Jessica Parker? :P

Human are varied in the setting. Not in the game. They are the youngest child of the Trevs/Ostwick nobility, Chantry based, etc., etc.. You have to roleplay around that. Or if you're one of the people who just play for "fun", then you make up whatever. But I'm not one of them.

I like the human variation in the setting though. Too bad they don't deliver much on international politics.. in a game about an Inquisition and war. It's more about other ****. There's a lot of potential for interesting politics, but it'll never happen without all of this silliness and hand waving.

Not to mention it has a growing fanbase that says "Humans are SO boring!!", even though Dragon Age wouldn't be interesting without humans up to this point. Where the **** do these people come from? The Panda expansion of WoW? The furry crowd? Wtf.

Oh you mean the human you can play as? Ok, I didn't get it

I'd worry more about the environment

My qunari had never been a Qunari so she was just herself.

Then why pick a Qunari? Roll of the dice? :P

Pretty sure he means she wasn't of the Qun, she was a Vashoth.

Qunari is the religion, qunari is the race.

A race that offers nothing in and of itself except looks.

And if people want to play something maligned, I was happier being a Ferelden in Kirkwall. Or hell, a city elf at least. At least they had a more established lore based around their plight... Now even the Carta steals their thunder too.

I was originally intending to play a female elf, but one day I just decided to go qunari instead.  Because I thought it would be interesting, and it was a striking look.

As it turned out, it made it every interesting - how people responded to her was different to how it would've been with other races (obv, yeah) and it really leant itself to the whole "yeah, I'm not who you think I am, and I'm just making this all up as I go because, well, it just seems right to me" thing that she did.

That's Marchers for you.

As a bonus, I had no idea in advance how much a certain lady with lots of arrows at her disposal liked that kind of thing ;)

A race that offers nothing in and of itself except looks.

I am curious as to exactly what you feel the different races need to offer to justify them as choices?  I mean, there's always going to be a limit to how much a game can react to that choice, and I personally feel they did a fair to good job.  But then, I do have only one Inky...

My favourite character to play remains a human female mage to save whatever part of Thedas is significant in the the game she's in.

That is a good character :) Me, I always play a Dalish elf, if I can. LOL, the first time I played Origins, I played as a female elf mage, but I got so lost in the circle tower I rage chucked my controller and didn't touch the game for like two months. Then I restarted, as a girly elf rogue, flew through the Origin tale and never looked back. Still, have a soft spot for those elf mages though... lol, mages in general.

Right?! Lightning FTW. And why would a human female mage be 'boring'? Man, the only things boring in this game, specifically, is the filler.

Across the series girls (and human) mages can go either way, romantically, they can total be BFF with everyone, and they look bad a** in most of the armors. LOL! Also, while they may have less exciting 'origins', they also have less traumatic ones so if somebody wasn't looking to RP some deeply emotionally scarred character (since a female human mage doesn't have the awful familial-slaughter of a Cousland) I'd think she'd be the winner for best starting character, LOLOL!

Of course, just my two cents.

Depends on the game, I can almost never decide which class I like best, haha. It's a tradition that I always start as a female rogue dual dagger, but that's not always my canon PC.

Inquisition for example, my Canon Good is a sweet, naive, female Qunari double handed ax.

My Canon Power-monger is a pious, spoiled, Human male sword&board.

LOLOL, me too. DW rogue, seriously, gotta have at least one run starring a DWR.

LOL, I have played a warrior a grand total of twice - both in DA 2. Just not enough cool stuff to do with warriors, especially when I almost always end up with a PC that's a hella tank, no matter rogue or mage. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do that with DAI, considering the player has no way to grow stats, like we could in the previous games. But, then I found stuff like fade touched obsidian and whatever the other one is that lays out walking tank (or whatever the name of the invincibility (temporary) perk is) and so... Could still make my character the biggest tank in the group, lolol :)

How did I put you down? I'm ridiculing the game. And you're not a Qunari either. I mean, what is that? It's just some bullshit that came out of David Gaider's head a few years back. Is it suddenly of tantamount importance to our identity? I wish I could create something that powerful. :P

If you don't want to talk to me though, then you know best.

Nice.

I play my warriors more like rogues that can do extra damage. My DA:I warrior twirled around the field like a brutish ballerina, evicerating enemies with every turn. It was grand. I also love the ground striking move.

Not enough drinking

1276798322_drinking-a-jug-in4-secs.gif

Thank you, I would have posted something myself had I been awake.

In your opinion they suck.  I'm definitely not a fratboy.  You want real purpose that's fine.  At the end of the day when I'm trying to relax I don't give a flying f*uck whether the character has horns or wings.  Actually, that's not true - I want wings.

RED BULL GIVES YOU WINGS!!

*snip* I hate speeking for other people, *shrugs*.

Then start speaking.

   Best sis ever!

Sorry, God, can't talk right now.  Practicing hammering a six-inch spike through a board with my weapon.  Get back to me later.

........................................

I shall not reveal where my mind went with that. Cabot, drink ASAP. o.O

For me, it's elven rogues. Always with the rogues and elf if available.

You haven't put me down yet, but you seem to put everyone down in the vicinity who enjoys the game the minute you start talking about it.

It's just too exhausting to be condescended to for enjoying an aspect that you dislike.

And why do you insist on name dropping? You are the only one bringing up Gaider. I don't know any quotes of his off the top of my head, so he is of no relevence to this.

He created the Qunari. So that's why I mentioned it. He was tasked with creating a new setting that had some D&D trappings.. but was given the freedom to create one extra/new race. He chose that. lol

As for condescension, are you expecting me to change? I don't know what you want.
