True, he's a pathological liar, I swear.

The choice between Hawke/Loghain is still my hardest choice to date. I've been hanging on to that decision for half an hour now...

Well, yes, perhaps it would help if I had read the books. You chose him to die?

Oh, no, I saved Loghain. I'm very pro-warden anyway, it's one of my few RP failings in that I let me the man behind the curtain make that choice too often. However, revelations in the book at least make it where I don't think I'm being a jackass for sparing him in DAO or in DAI.
Hometime! First skating lesson of the season! First session with my brand new skate boots!
I love watching ice skating. Well, figure skating. It's like majestic art in sports. Katarina Witt was pure grace. Er, I'm sure she still is probably, didn't mean to suggest otherwise.

On the subject of ME car driving...
But I thought Solas says there's nothing in his people's lore connecting the archdemons to the elven Gods.. or I think it's him who says that.. I need to replay the game, my memory is shoddy at best.
Lynroy, need you!
I remember that. But he also had a conversation with Cass which suggests he knows more than he's letting on.
When Cass asks if Cory's dragon is a real Archdemon..
So a replica of what exactly?
Cool!

I always love the lines:
Shap: "what kind of weapons does this thing have?"
Liara: "it's a taxi, it has a fare meter"
I failed my first time doing that mission because of that line.. couldn't stop laughing and lost it xD

To me he ends that sentence talking about how Cory's pet is a replica of the archdemons. Based on the wording "This Dragon" but I don't really like picking sentences apart due to one word in it, even writers try to be eloquent sometimes lol.
I like my Hawke a lot. But Loghain is one of my favourite NPCs.
So I try to look at it through a logical perspective:
- Why the hell would Hawke be more useful in Warden issues than Loghain, an actual Warden (and , may I add, veteran)?
- Also... Why would I exile redeemed Wardens, if they add to my Inquisition's power (supposedly)?
The "Solas Greatly Disapproves" when I choose to let the Wardens stay really adds salt to the wound... I want approval outta that pr*ck ![]()
I like to give Hawke more chances of turning his/her bad luck life around a little.. not that it seems to help but leaving Hawkey in the Fade won't either. Where with Loghain, this is the perfect send off for him in my tales.
The only time I exile Wardens is if I believe they're in greater harm or pose a greater threat by staying.I like my Hawke a lot. But Loghain is one of my favourite NPCs.

I don't see the choice so much as exile as "stay put in a safe place."

Don't sweat it, Roy de Fer, we all suffer at the hands of the evil BSN like coordinator. I'm in the same state again myself.
ETA: *smirks* Was going to be all nice and find a Solas upvote gif for you, but couldn't stop laughing at the first search result hit and gave up looking for more. Sorry. Sort of.

ROFLMAO!! That is grand. I think I only had one like before being out again. Seriously?
On another note... I always save the Wardens. Is there a reason not to?
Role play. Artemis Lavellan is a sweet woman, but those Wardens really rankled her allowing themselves to be manipulated so easily. She gave them the boot.

Pathological, not sure.
He avoids direct lies preferring to skirt around the truth while still giving a kernel of it. He is very bad at direct lies, we see this a couple of times as he becomes flustered and tries to recover. Once on the balcony to a friend or romances Inquisitor "You show a wisdom I have not seen since....sincemydeepestjourneysintotheancientmemoriesoftheFade." He almost gives something about himself away and then tries to cover it up really quickly. And if you take him to Halamshiral and he comments afterward about missing courtly intrigue and the Inquisitor calls him out on it, he stumbles and blusters before "Ah well...erm...the Fade! Yes, the Fade! Phew, that was close..."

Yup. I think he's concerned about what will happen if the archdemons are killed. I mean he grills Blackwall about it.
Solas: Your Order... the Grey Wardens...
Blackwall: Not my Order, as you well know.
Solas: Of course, but you may still have an answer.
Blackwall: What about them?
Solas: The Wardens see themselves as the world's defense against the Blight, do they not?
Blackwall: Yes... why do you sound so skeptical? Doesn't everyone know this?
Solas: When an Archdemon rises, they slay it. What will they do when all the Archdemons are slain?
Blackwall: Retire?
Solas: Without Archdemons, there can be no Blights. Is that the reasoning?
Blackwall: Right. Where are you going with this?
Solas: Nowhere. I hope they are correct.

I get what you're saying, and It's been a really long time since I thought about speculation of any sort. I used to have notes.. Cliffnotes version is I feel that's just the face of it. Cory's dragon existed for a purpose, it gave him immortality. He put part of himself into the dragon, as the Well of Sorrows tells you as much. On the other hand, the Archdemon Urthemiel's soul was "harvested" by Flemeth in order to protect it. Kieran then became a vessel for it (if you let him). Meaning that an uncorrupted Archdemon could potentially be a vessel. I think Corypheus wasn't trying to create an Archdemon, he was trying to bestow godhood on himself using knowledge he gained from the orb. If the Archdemons all contain souls that are as valuable to Solas as they were to Mythal (for "reasons"), he would hate the Wardens for destroying them.
But it's just as likely to be BS.
Everyone here has their own speculation at this point. And I've already contributed to some of the crazier theories out there. Sorry Sera. ![]()
that does happen often enough, makes the news every time. scary stuff hahaha
To this day, I still have not been bitten by a spider. and I've even dusted out the inside of a cotton picking tractor, that had red back spiders in it *victory cheer*
Which just reminds me of Bill Bryson's In a Sunburned Country, underscoring the Aussie nonchalance about such things:
I began to feel a tremor of foreboding--a feeling not lightened when Sonja gave a cry of delight at the sight of a spider by our feet and said, "Hey, look, a redback!" A redback, if you don't know already, is death on eight legs. As Trevor and I whimperingly tried to climb into each other's arms, she snatched it up and held it out to us on the tip of a finger.
"It's all right," she giggled. "It's dead."
We peered cautiously at the little object on her fingertip, a telltale red hourglass shape on its shiny back. It seemed unlikely that something so small could deliver instant agony, but make no mistake, a single nip from a redback's malicious jaws can result within minutes in "frenzied twitching, a profuse flow of body fluids and, in the absence of prompt medical attention, possible death." Or so the literature reports.
Yeah, "redbacks" are black widows.
Interesting thoughts. Corypheus had immortality before he had the archdemon though. I always felt the archdemon was him seeing himself above the old gods, losing faith in them. Declaring himself a god because he can control them. Who really knows? Corypheus and he's dead.I get what you're saying, and It's been a really long time since I thought about speculation of any sort. I used to have notes..
