Makes me want to play TIE fighter again. Got the upgraded edition on gog (along with pretty much all of the X-Wing/TIE fighter games).  Now if only they'd make a single-player fps where you'd play as a stormtrooper i'd be a happy imperial

I hate to admit it, but I never played TIE or X-Wing.. lol

 

I was a Wing Commander fan.. big time. Still a top 10 for me. So I guess I shunned it's competitors. Even if it was Star Wars

 

That said, I'd play a new one.

What story was it? The Blue Carbuncle, I presume? It's the only story that definitely takes place around Christmas time.

X-Wing Alliance is still the best Star Wars game ever made, in my opinion, closely followed by Jedi Knight.... I wanna say "2", actually.

 

I had modded skirmish matches with friends, everyone in their heavily modded personal vessel, that took up to 2 hours - whole squadrons of AI fighters included. Those were the days.
