I'm still surprised how young you are...

You know, with the name and stuff...

"Matriach" would suggest... I don't know. I link it with the Asari, and we all know that Asari Matriachs have been around for a couple centuries, and possess immense power and wisdom. I mean, you got the brains covered, but the age... not what I expected, honestly.

I want a full time screen (15.6", standart laptop size, or bigger) and a touchpad/mouse to navigate. And regular keyboard is easy to use and I just... type fast, and whenever I make a typo, brain just stops typing subconsciously.

Ah. I mean, I do adore my 17" asus gaming laptop, it's lovely.

But I'm a texter, so I communicate a lot with my phone, so it feels natural to me to be on the mobile theme.

Yes.

I think it came to me kind of... well. In honour of wisdom, and respect and all that what we should keep in mind about real world matriarchs. It's kinda what I expect to achieve at the end of my life, you know. To be heard and be wise/achieve wisdom

What is it about the brains?  :P

A matriarch is a woman/mother who is the head of her family/tribe. Matriarchy is where the family is run by/headed by the women, not the men. So the term is not always attached to elderly age though it is common.

Yeah, uh, that's an idiom in English I picked up.

To have brains = to be clever, basically.

Well, yeah. I like in a matriarchy, for example. Still, being the head is often associated with, as you yourself said, older women.

Mafs' own reason is a pretty good one. And I think there's something kind of common there... after all, why did I name myself "Sergeant", huh.

I am horrible at texting on phones now that majority on the market are touchpad keyboards. I hate touchpad keyboards with a passion!

Yes. It might also mean that I admire all the societies irl where there's a matriarch (elephants, hyenas, ...)

Used to hate them too, but now I can text without looking and 90% of my words are correct.

I mean, not as great as my 98% rate with button phones, but still not bad.

The first person, fictional or otherwise, that I can honestly say would fit the title of "Matriarch" that I was exposed to in my life would have to be Victoria Barkley.  Played by Barbara Stanwyck in The Big Valley.

Papua New Guinea, when getting off the mainland, the eldest or strongest woman is the head of the family. It's not only in animals, just rarer for human cultures.

I remember a vacation there, in New Ireland (island, large, of the mainland of PNG) and yup, the women ran the families/tribes there. They owned the land, they had access to the family's wealth etc.

Things like that bring out the authoritarian streak in me.

"I know better."

Then I suddenly want to pick Control in Mass Effect. Just to bring it back to that subject. :P

yup, but those are 99% situated on the mainland of PNG which is why I very specifically said I was talking about the other Islands, not the mainland.

Mainland PNG and the separate other islands of PNG are like two completely different cultures/groups of people. Or were when i visited, which was before it became a major tourist hub.

Politics? I'd say that's too high level to apply to cannibalism. Almost universally repulsive.

Probably right.

Maybe it'll change soon. This seemed to only happen in the past couple of years. But saying this is political too, so I'll stop :P
