Sudden bout of actually being busy.
Been a while since i had to deal with an petty theft attempt. Almost makes me feel nostalgic.

I've always hated the two kisses thing, why can't we bow like the Japanese?

There's no kisses or bowing in my culture (but my mom is Asian.. they do a kind of Thai greeting, when you clasp your hands and bow your head slightly).

It took me a second to figure out what you were getting at with the two kisses thing.
My 'murican was showing. But yes, exactly. Or just nod. Or do what I do--nothing.

That's nice, and I bet less awkward too.

Oh sorry, I wasn't clear, but you guys got it anyway.

No worries, my mind was in Maeve's head so mention of kisses took me in one direction...Had to pull myself out of Thedas and back to real world and herp derp, Lyn. [that's a drink]
People tend to see me as being aloof because I don't do anything.

I've never done it myself. But she does. I'm in Texas. Typical greeting is just a head nod. Wassup y'all.

It's called an Irish Exit.

Just do what I do. A little nod, and say "alright". Not even that. Just "a'right". Don't even need a response. Just go about your busy. They know you acknowledged them. You know you didn't completely avoid them. Win win. ![]()

Good on her...

Wait, Spanish do the two kisses thing, like Russians do?
I always considered the kissing a bit... errr, strange. We do the regular hand clasp, firm but not crushing, firm eye contact, add a single nod of respect if you feel like it. Or at least I've never seen anyone kiss. That, plus this is what my dad (and mom) taught me all my life. It's one of the things your elders pass down to you when you're of age, and you never quite forget it.

Ah, yeah.
The hands clasp is a formal sort of greeting. Usually "Hi" and nodding is enough, though I've seen (from personal experience, too) brofists used.

I do that on occasion. Depends on how much I enjoyed being where I was with who I was with.
