I always considered the kissing a bit... errr, strange. We do the regular hand clasp, firm but not crushing, firm eye contact, add a single nod of respect if you feel like it. Or at least I've never seen anyone kiss. That, plus this is what my dad (and mom) taught me all my life. It's one of the things your elders pass down to you when you're of age, and you never quite forget it.
Yes, when at least of the two is a woman, like woman-woman and man-woman; two men clasp hands.
And it can be awkward sometimes, like yesterday- I was with a friend and when we were saying goodbye we got close and I had no idea if she was going for a hug or the two kisses.
