I can't tell if they're serious. Seems tongue in cheek.

Wait. Tongue in cheek. I don't altogether get that phrase, but that, I think.

That's actually from several days ago.  It's just been cold enough to not melt at all (thank the Maker for that, at least.)

It's interesting how geography really changes stuff.  Depending on where you are in Portugal, we might be very close to being around the same latitude (between 38-39 degrees here) but not having any oceans around, we go to extremes in summer and winter.

Tongue in cheek means not serious.

I was kind of contrasting it with Japan... which is dead serious :P

Many, many years after the Shepard Trilogy

That's kind of what I thought.. so yeah.

But I think they'd need to do something that still makes them very different than humans.

Many, many years after the Shepard Trilogy

Really??  Wow, I guess I do need to start visiting the MEA forums.  I just assumed it was some sort of last-ditch desperation mission being done in conjuction with the  Crucible so if that failed, humanity would still exist.  Figured they launched from some secret location before the final battle at Earth.

Even if it was around the time of the Crucible though, I'd think the trip took a long time.

But I don't even know what tech they have. Conventional Mass Effect would take hundreds of years non-stop.. and there isn't even a ship that can do that. Not even the Reapers.

From the initial video release, it looked like they'd developed some experimental super-fast (yes, that's the tech term) propulsion system.  I just ( again, assumption on my part, nothing more) figured they had a prototype developed.  One shot, one desperate shot.

ME:A is set so far into the future that if the Reapers did not die in Shepard's time, Liara launches a pod (that is later found by the new species) containing all the information about how to stop the Reapers and the next generation does it.

As it is in the Wikia:

"One of Liara's time capsules activates on an unknown world. A recording of Liara explains that the capsule contains a record of her generation's war against the Reapers and ultimate defeat. She urges whoever can find the capsule to use the information she gathered on the Reapers and the blueprints of the Crucible to try and succeed where the people of her time did not.

Many years into the future, a woman of an unknown race called the Stargazer tells the story of "The Shepard" to a young boy, and how their sacrifice and warning allowed for them to eventually defeat the Reapers, once and for all."

Redirect a mass relay to point at Andromeda, and jump intergalactic. Might still takes years even at the extreme relay speeds. They seem nearly instantaneous in the Milky Way.

I'm highly doubting they would connect the ME trilogy with Andromeda more then explorers going "oh we left that galaxy in search of another before any of those events started so we dunno what happened" solely so the writers wouldn't have to come up with any dialogue concerning the events.

It seems like the best way to sidestep the issue.

Easiest way, perhaps. any way the address or do not address ME trilogy events would annoy at least one group of people, entitled fans are the worst!

Yrch. They are just so annoying. They should just find some way to make money from their otherwise irrelevant nerdfury and use it to pay for the development of a game just for them and them alone. Then they can leave the rest of us alone!

Nice.. all it took to get Ser Isaac armor is just a console code. Almost impossible to get otherwise.

Except I'm not even playing a rogue atm.
