Uh... I've never given two craps from a fat donkey for Boba Fett...
That was directed at Al, but fair enough. I just want to point out that an achetype needs little development. And it often crosses cultural boundaries too.

Honestly: I always hated all three Mad Max films.
Growing up on kung fu movies, I came to expect s*** from action flicks that Hollywood (or in this case, Straya) rarely if ever provided.
I like lots of Kung Fu, but they don't do cars much.
And even then, I like the more visceral stuff there too. Sonny Chiba > Kung Fu ![]()
it's road race/war scenes beat the crap out of this new Mad Max's ones
I feel like this is just... objectively false
Anyway, I think if nothing else my respect for Fury Road comes from the audacity of doing a movie like this with practical effects instead of CG -- and making it look better than most modern action movies.
Real stunts are rare indeed. That's why I said I even like that Punisher flick. Because it sucks otherwise... If you want to talk about crappy villains, go look at Travolta in that.
Why the hell did I try to read all that when you clearly warned tl;dr??? WHY?So I just watched Mad Max: Fury Road and would like to give my exhaustive, critical review. Spoilered for TL;DR.
Spoiler
Because you're on a crazy arse Dr. Pepper induced sugar high, that's why.
I dedicate this vid to Duelist:
I hate it when you're right. *drink*
Well thank the Maker it's a pretty damned rare occurrence, eh? ![]()
I really hate it being someone who obssesses compulsively.

I don't care if you talk about it. That's why I mentioned Boba Fett.

Just add "Hail Satan" to the end of every answer. You'll be dismissed soon enough.
Well, it's just been a bit excessive over the last few months...May the...wait can't I can't say that in here because people will then get their tail feathers in a bunch because 'star wars.'

Some defense lawyer would love it probably.
I just appreciate the creativity and emphasis on physical stunts rather than cars and special effects.
South East Asian films tend to be my go to since they make up for the comparatively small budget by being both creative and visceral
BTW, Tony Jaa > everyone.
Cool.. I happen to be half Thai btw. But I've only seen Ong Bak
I remember that scene.
Chiba was Karate.. which is kind of underrated, despite being popular in schools.
