OMG! Verse, do it! That's so Kenzi if she were a Disney Princess. I'm still OOL, but I'll catch this bad boy on the rebound fer shure fer shure.
Alright, I'll try it out for a while. But I might end up going back to a Kenzi pic later.

But that's competitive FPS. And barely requires socializing, unless you're in a guild or something.
This whole other trend is for extroverts. Yet they are extroverts who are still lonely enough to somehow need a social outlet...and rely on games for that.
I'm just introverted, I think. I'm both isolated, willingly, and don't need the outlet.
I guess I just don't think FPS as a genre has been the purview of strong storytelling...really ever? Even the games which have had decent stories have ultimately been supported and carried much longer on the basis of their competitive multiplayer. Bioshock is the major exception to that that comes to mind, but it'd be the exception that underscores the rule. I feel like ever since Quake this genre has largely catered to extroverted (or at least socially-engaged) players, so I'm not seeing the trend. It seems like status quo to me.
(On a side note, I don't really know what "extroverts who are still lonely enough to somehow need a social outlet" means. I play games like Borderlands, Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and now Destiny with my friends. We play together just like we would've played Goldeneye together twenty years ago. The difference is now we don't have to give up playing with one another just because we're not all ten minutes apart.)

They're rarer, yeah.. But ever? The ones that did it are often some of the best games. Bioshock. Deus Ex. Thief. Half Life. Halo, for the most part. TES if you want to count that.
If you want to say status quo, that's cool too. I'll get behind that. I didn't mean to say it's recent. It's everywhere. My Xbox is inundated with this social ****... and I don't have a single friend after years on it. lol
My point is that I'm into escapist experiences. If I wanted to be with people, I wouldn't be playing games.
yay! Glad I could help you find something.Alright, I'll try it out for a while. But I might end up going back to a Kenzi pic later.

Is that the sniper scope on PC?
Looks different...

That's fair. I'd say you should look into The Witness, which comes out tomorrow, though I believe that's a PS4 exclusive. Might be on PC too.

Looks neat. It looks like Myst (not FPS, but first person adventure if you remember it). I have a PS4, but haven't bought much on it yet.

I've never played Myst, though I've heard the comparison quite a bit lately (I did play a bit of Syberia, and I understand that's similar in some ways?).
If you're seeking good single-player games on PS4, my first game on there was inFamous Second Son and I really liked it.

I played the older Infamous on PS3.. but lost track of the series. So that's just the second one?
I never played Syberia, but Myst did spawn quite a few games like it back in the day.
As for PS4, I just have the Uncharted Collection and Bloodborne atm.

I never played the prior games, but I'm pretty sure there were two inFamous games on PS3 with a different protagonist (Cole?). Second Son was designed such that you needed no prior knowledge of the series, and seems to take place later on.
Oh, thinking of Xbox again, did you ever play Alan Wake?

I didn't actually. I wasn't a fan of Max Payne and they made that, right?

Remedy made one of the Max Payne games, though I never played that. But I get the sense they are pretty different games either way. As the story of a writer encountering situations seemingly straight out of a novel, it's definitely one of the most "story-driven" things I've ever played. The collector's edition literally came in the form of a book (with contents stashed inside).

I'm surprised it's still selling for $20 on the Xbox store. Hmm. I remember it was one of the earliest titles.

2008 -- a little over two years after the 360 launched (which was late 2005), but yeah definitely a long time ago. You'd be better off looking for a disc copy of the game (or it looks like this place is selling a card with a download code for half that price). I'd suggest you watch some gameplay or reviews, but try to avoid spoilers since the discovery/mystery is part of what makes it a fun experience.
I read up more on it. It looks interesting enough. I'll keep it in mind, especially if it's cheap.
There isn't actually a lot of games from that whole gen (and this one) that fit the bill.. so I'll be open to it. Seems like most of my favorite story based games are older, with a few exceptions.
This is one reason I was fond of Bioware for so long. I always got stoked when they came out with something. I could depend on them.. until lately.
All day I dream about steak.
Did you set one out to cook when you got home?
*rises from the bar suddenly*
It's still Australia Day!!
*cheers*
I'm at the beach doing the exact same stuff I was doing at home, though it took a lot of effort to get the internet working.
Uh, no. Steak is expensive.Did you set one out to cook when you got home?

Is it?
I'm an Texan... it's OK here. Not Japanese prices or anything ![]()
