...since you got the PC?
Nope. Since before PC.
SHEMBALA!!!!
...
Oh, cookies!

SHEMBALA
That would a grimdarkgritty romance option though =)
Oh if we are still talking romance options BioWare should create a character named Lady Dyer I Is. Make her some kind of Ferelden noble who likes exploring the past or something. A Chantry lay sister with a mysterious past.
Because she has a tongue that others aren't used to hearing?
They think she's "annoying" and "stupid" because she doesn't speak with Received Pronunciation. Little do they bloody know, my English is probably more educated than theirs, and I sure as **** couldn't give a damn about RP.
I am enjoying this episode of Star Trek way too much. ![]()

I wasn't dancing, I was practicing my melee skills.
Gah. RP (Received Pronunciation) is what the British came up with when they wanted to sound "Educated" because they were university-educated snobs. As far as I'm aware, this is way back, when university was a nobility and rich people's thing. They literally WANTED TO SOUND BETTER THAN THE COMMON FOLK.
Aaaand now people apparently think that Sera is stupid because she doesn't speak with the "I'm better than you" accent.
Of course, today it's a bit different and university is available to many more people (for example, I think Poodle is hardly from the top few percent of the population in terms of "being rich", AND they admitted ME to one - ME!) and RP is what they mostly try to teach the foreigners.

Ah now it all makes sense when you said RP I thought you were talking about Role Playing. ![]()

Oh, yeah. And non-native speakers seem to have problems understanding her accent, too. Hell, I even saw Americans complain they can't.
Yet when me, a guy who never heard of English until age 5 (of course, all kids are fluent in their native by that age) and never got serious about it until roughly age 12, hears her talk, I understand everything she says. Not only the words, but for whichever reason, the context, too. Maybe even how she feels as a character.
They also complain about her views on "elfy elves" and the Verchiel March mission. How dare she interrupt the Inquisitor while they prattle on and take it into her own hands to kill that arrogant noble bastard?
Mind you I personally never experienced it and always let her kill him. I only know from whinging I've read on this forum.
From a player standpoint I was a bit annoyed. From an Inquisitor stand point Ben was a bit annoyed. But it was one of the funniest and funnest things BioWare has ever done in its writing. I laughed so hard the first time.

I also never had trouble understanding Sera so I never get that argument. ![]()
Oh speaking of the awesome that is Sera I defeated the Sandy Howler today and got one of my fav dialgue with them.
"Is everyone OK?"
"Yes think so, I'm alive, al-ive." ![]()

Actually, Sera interrupted me on my first playthrough.
It was ok, though. I was about to tell her to off the friggin' user when he was done talking.
I mean, she could've waited until I told her to, but ultimately, she did exactly what I felt like doing. She seems to be relatively close to my own way of thinking as a character. Hence why I like her so much, yeah.
I only see one reason to tell her not to kill him herself: I'm already hilt-deep in the bastard's neck.
At Skyhold, I told her she didn't do the wrong thing, but I chose the middle option. I think it's something about the whole thing "not going the best possible way, but to the best outcome" or such.
I also never had trouble understanding Sera so I never get that argument.
See? IF MILES CAN, HOW COME NATIVE SPEAKERS CAN'T.
Hell, Slavic languages are as far as you get from Germanic, and Roman languages hardly count (French influence on the tongues on the Isles since 1066 at the very least - and I'm not even talking about Danelaw and the Vikings), and I have no bloody problem. Then again, I blame talent for that particular trait. I was just born lucky.
Granted my English skills are obvly not the best but I could understand her ust fine...most of the time.
