I do, in theory. But I am not often arsed to put the theory into specific practice. I am by far not an expert in the language.

The first one I pulled out of my arse. The second one is a legit word though.
Genderfluid = somebody who changes their gender identity frequently. Last week they were a man, tomorrow a woman. And so forth.

But I think the "Received" bit comes from the fact it's not a natural accent, rather than an invented one.
As such, you can't be "born" with it, but you have to "receive" it (Ok, that makes as much sense as anything Cole would say, but I think you catch my drift, yeah?)

Nope, didn't get it. Ugh. It WAS a crap explanation. What I mean is... every accent has an area where it's... local. RP doesn't have such a thing. By being "born" with an accent, what I really meant was more like... you're born in an area, and you're likely to live in that area, at least the first few years of your life. Which, of course, means that you pick up the "local" accent of the area you were born in.
I might be decent at English, but my explanations sure suck a big fat hairy one.

Well, it was the accent for the higher social echelons back in the day, around the first couple of decades of the 20th and prior to that, it's not really a fake-slash-invented accent by any means. It was also dubbed "Public School Pronunciation" as well. It really was a proper accent that people grew up with; it's just that it's not as prevalent any more. Now it's just "the posh accent" or "the royal accent".
(the word 'received' conveys its original meaning of 'accepted' or 'approved', as in 'received wisdom', apparently)

Kind of related: I have some stupid real life things to do and the guy who looked over my notes and corrected + added stuff in there thought it was a great idea to just make some wavy lines everywhere which apparently are supposed to be 'words'. I hate it when people do that ****** bullshit.
