I watched hours of the Beta. That's where i get the 'like Defiance, but boring' from (used to be a Defiance player).

 

As for the story, unlike the Arkham series this is a total collapse scenario. Nobody is left to maintain infrastructure in any meaningful capacity anywhere in US and without infrastructure cities become tombs, completely incapable of sustaining human life. The cities are a lost cause in this scenario for purposes of restarting civilization.

Now if they would have written it so its a scavenging operation then i could understand it.

Then the entire plot is even more moronic. You don't send some ramshackle 'secret squirrel' unit in to a quarantined city to restore order. You send in the military proper and whatever the local equivalent of the CDC is.

I honestly thought that pandemic was nation wide but seeing as its indeed one city, 'The Division' just went from 'pass' to 'lol nope'. I've had my fill of bad writing in games for now.
