Its a reference to a commercial, which I referenced before.  Ace is the name of a hardware store that is, or was, in the States.  Their slogan is 'Ace: The helpful place'.

Because everytime I mention him, someone has to make a stupid joke. And now I'm going to have to go back to the name database and find something better - when the name was pretty much perfect - because it's been ruined for me.

 But it is a stupid joke though.  I would never change my character name based on...anything...people call him/ her or do to them.  I'm sorry, genuinely.
