Yo, Poods, Rel, whoever else British.

Do you guys and gals need your country's great authors' books to be read to pass high school in UK?

I could use a list of good, short books, 18th century onwards.

Sounds oddly...specific.

I'd recomend CS Forester but the man is 20th century.

So did everyone abandon ship?

Bringing down the sky, so I guess XO Pressly has the deck.

All these people able to play ME and I have the wrong damn console.

Sorry for being envious but I can't help it.

Heard a rumor tonight at work that the PS4 may be about to do backwards compatability with the three.  Can't find any corroborating evidence.

As far as I recall, we generally get stuck with a couple of (largely irrelevant however they try to sell it) 'great works' you have to study in the literature part of doing English lessons.

(about two thirds of my language coursework was short stories)

I can't really recommend any, though, in both senses of the term.

Nuka-Cola Quantum in FO3 only gives you extra AP for some time, not healing. The amount of healing/AP also seems to be inflated in FO4, unless there's some dividing going on.

Commanding Officer is ashore, XO Pressly has the deck...

Yeah but that's easy because it is so beloved.  I said underated.  I don't think most people like Mars but I adore it.

And yes, arses are indeed the best.

I just said out loud what my favourite was, regardless of what anyone thinks or if it's underated or not  :D

Normal? Ha! I've been strutting around here without any pants for nearly a year. Normal has no place here.

Which is why I said... trying to act

Not very good at acting, though

Hey guys,

When I got to work today, I found out that a customer filed a complaint against me and it ruined my whole day. I hope you don't mind if I vent my frustrations to all of you...

I'll give you the cliff notes version:

A customer came in last week asking for one of the dips we use to make our fruit platters (not a platter, just the dip by itself) and I had no idea if I was allowed to give it to her, so I politely said that I couldn't. She was very rude to me and then proceeded to storm off to the customer service desk like an angry child. She came back a few minutes later with one of my superiors and I had to give her the dip. Apparently she is a 'preferred customer' and has an agreement with my boss to get the dips separately (how was I supposed to know that?) and I apologized to her twice before she left. Now, I am just waiting for the store manager to call me up to his office to give me sh*t for it...

TL;DR: Customers are assholes and I need a drink.

Anyway, sorry for the mini rant and I hope you all had better days than I did. :)

Vent away, vent away. The experience is all too familiar to me. It really blows that that happened. My personal favorite customer complaint about me was from a woman that told me to shut up while I was trying to explain to her that someone was on their way to give her the assistance she asked for. Yup, she tells me to shut up, yells at me, and proceeds to file a complaint. I got slapped with disciplinary action and almost fired. People are gems.

Yes, I was in the gutter. No, that's not what the thread was about. Oops.

I'm so sorry to hear that Verse had to deal with someone so awful. How difficult is it to say "Actually, I'm so and so, I have an arrangement. If you need to doublecheck, you can ask Manager So and So." Peope are awful!

Apparently impossible for people to inform floor staff of those things.. I've been fired once because of an extremely similar situation.

Given my current mental state I'm not sure I could imagine being fired that much. :(  Sorry to hear it.

It would have been way better if she had done that instead of running to complain about me. *sighs* Stupid customers...

Thanks, Ash. I feel better now, but I was really upset when I first found out.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that that happened to you. I am pretty sure I won't get fired because of this but I may get a write up in my file.
