What is Guard intended to represent in-world? Is it supposed to a sort of enhanced defence that effectively protects you from injury for a time? Or something else?
I always imagine guard as representing the character's ability to 'block' an incoming strike. But since, in general, the engine is not powerful enough to show the complex parries and blocks with shields that would entail it ust gets tied up in a defensive stat that represents more of an ablative armor. After all, your arm would get tired eventually.
