In my experience it is.  When woman A. finds out you are crushing on Woman B. be they fictional, celebrity, or real, they tend to get jealous.

I think we, at least, can recognise it was intended as a joke. And even so, as you say - preference does not automatically equal some kind of -ism. I always say, attractive is as attractive does. Which is an odd bit of paraphrasing, I'll grant you.
